Java should be on the FBI's most wanted serial stuffie killer list, a black bar over her eyes! Loves to whip stuffies back and forth, then tear into them, pull out the squeaker, chomp it, spit it out and proceed to remove every last trace of stuffing.....NEXT! Needless to say, I stopped buying stuffed/squeaker toys since she was 10 mos old or so. Have a toy I bought from JB Wholesale - plastic cube that dispenses treats - will play w/ it for 1/2 hour solid, or until it no longer dispenses treats. LOVES tug of war, but the rope toy gets put away afterward or else I'd find a mess of string w/in minutes. Learning to retrieve a frisbee, tennis balls, etc.

OBSESSED WITH:
stuffies and rope toys (Unfortunately, they only last a few minutes or unravel), socks and laundry items.

LIKES:
Nylabones, sterilized bones, empty water bottles, tennis balls, frisbees

SO-SO:
Kongs, rubber toys/balls etc., anything too big for her mouth

AGGRESSION:
High value things like bully sticks (she'll growl at everyone but myself)

How many different types of toys do they have? ( Kong's, ropes, balls, stuffed ) What are their favorite ones?
Hundreds!! A box in the lounge, a box in the dining room and a box in the bedroom!! They have a Kong each which they have their lunch in. Tuggy ropes, lots and lots of stuffed toys, most of which Diesel tries to rip into a thousand pieces, tennis balls, and a couple of towels. Diesel's favourite is actually one of Abbie's stuffed toys, a pink handbag! Of all the things he could choose...! Abbie has her special 'babies' which do not get ripped and that go to bed with her.
Are they destructive with their toys? How long do they last?Diesel - yes very destructive at the moment although he is getting better. I think its just the novelty of having toys ( 4 and half years living on a scrapyard with nothing) Abbie has her moments!!
Do you have a "Serial Stuffie Killer"? ( Stuffed toys that are shredded beyond recognition ) or do they play with them nicely?Diesel is a killer! Stuffed toy to big old mess in less than 3 seconds! Abbie saves her killings for special occasions!
Do they play with the toys by themselves or do they play with you or other dogs?Abbie does both. Diesel prefers to play alone. He likes to throw a toy in the air and catch it. Abbie is trying to get him to play tuggy with her but he doesn't understand.
Have you seen any toy aggressive behaviour?
No. The first thing I always teach is a " leave it" so no matter how valuable the toy is to them they will release it without hesitation.

Red has A LOT of toys... let's see, he has:
  • Kongs
  • Plush stuffed animals with squeakies
  • Tug-of-war rope
  • Tennis balls
  • Bad Cuz (those squeaky rubber balls with feet)
  • Holee Roller
  • Kong frisbee

His favorite are the stuffed squeaky animals, the Bad Cuz, and the Kong frisbee. He doesn't play with the other listed toys at all, unless I initiate the game.

Even with the stuffed animals being his favorite (therefore they take quite a beating), he has never shredded one yet (in the 7 weeks he's been palying with them). He shakes them and chews them, but he has never ripped one yet. He hasn't "killed" any of his toys yet, thankfully

Nope, as I mentioned above, Red doesn't shred any of his "stuffies". He shakes and chews them constantly but he hasn't disemboweled one yet!

Red plays with the toys himself a lot, but his preference is to play with us. He'll bring a sodden stuffie over and lay it in our laps so we'll throw it for him. And he lays down and squeaks his Bad Cuz NON-STOP until we take it away, LOL

He doesn't have any other dogs to play with on a regular basis, but he has tried to offer his toys to the cats to play with, but they are not interested, haha

Nope, no toy aggression at all. He knows that if he gives it to us, the game of fetch will continue so he's happy with that!
