| • Sleep in your bed with you? Do they sleep on top or under the covers? When did they first start sleeping in the bed? Or do they have their own bed?
Jackson sleeps in bed with me when Aaron (the boyfriend that lives with me) isn't in bed, which usually means if I have a day off or a second shift, he jumps up and takes Aaron's spot when he leaves for work. Otherwise, he has his own bed at the foot of our's. He sleeps on top of the covers. He started sleeping in my bed as a puppy, and got his own bed when I got a roommate that slept in my bed with me until she got her own room set up.
• Sit/sleep on your furniture? Do they have their favorite piece of furniture? How many have leather couches? When did you first ley them sit on the furniture?
Yes, he's allowed on the furniture. He usually chooses to just sleep on the floor, but if he gets up on a chair it's usually my favorite armchair which he has to scrunch himself into a little ball in order to fit on. We do have a couple leather couches that he has the option to steal, but he seems to like the armchair more. He's been allowed on the furniture since he was a puppy. |

| IN the winter both girls are very welcome in my bed. Derringer will snuggle under the covers with me and Delana curls around the back of my legs. In the summer, sorry guys it's way too hot! I have beds in both bedrooms for them and in the living room. They also have their own loveseat in the living room. |

| Chase has his own couch in the basement, any other furniture he is not allowed on unless we let him up. I trained him to not go up to the 3rd floor, that is for the cats sanity. Every night chase can cuddle with me on the bed, but when it's time for sleep, he goes into his crate.

| My little girl sleeps with me in bed, and when it is cooler out, she is under the covers with me. I allow her full range of the house. Ive allowed this since day one, and she is my little princess. She has been at my side since the first day i picked her up. I recall on the ride home, it was a 3 hour ride, in the last 20 minutes she threw up all over my lap, and since then it was match made in heaven. She is 8 now, going on 9 and she is my everything and is my 3 doberman i've had, in a row. I had a female, a male, and now Ari, another female. I like the way the girls fill out when they become adults, not ripping on the boys at all, but i like em short, stocky, brickhouses. |

| They are allowed on the bed, they sleep with us and sometimes even take naps there, Wallace(the dachshund) sleeps inside the covers noirmally on my side of the bed and Luna(dobe) outside the covers around the feet area, although sometimes when i wake up, her head is on my pillow lol, they also get OFF when I tell them off.
For the couches, I have 2 leather couches and a fabric covered futon, the futon is pretty much the dogs futon, but once in a while I will tell them OFF just so they don't start getting possesive of it, the leather couches they're allowed only on invite.

| | Lil Pup | We have a king size bed and only 1 dobie.(for now, well maybe until friday.) I don't think even Bristol is comfortable sleeping with us because it is rare that we have to tell her to get in her "bed".(a leather couch at the foot of our bed that she will soon have to share.) |

| Sleep in your bed with you?
I have to admit that sometimes I let Brandy sleep in my bed with me Do they sleep on top or under the covers?
Ahh under! She is quite the princess! When did they first start sleeping in the bed?
Once my parents had a whole bunch of guests over that didn't leave until one in the morning, and I was waiting for them to leave to put Brandy to bed, and then I fell asleep! In the morning I freaked out because there was thing giant thing on top of me, then I realized that whoopsies, I forgot to put pup to bed!! Or do they have their own bed?
She has a beautifully cozy crate stuffed with a bunch of thick blankets, and she sleeps in there 99% of the time. Sometimes I am too lazy or too tired to put her to bed, or if I am super cold, then in the bed she comes! Sit/sleep on your furniture?
Yes, the couches would not be the same without pup! She does however, have a little chair that she likes to watch TV in upstairs, but downstairs she is on the couch. Do they have their favorite piece of furniture?
She LOVES her little chair upstairs, but she is much to giant for it! She usually won't sleep upstairs unless it is on her chair! She is so big that she hangs off of it and it looks like she is sleeping so weird that her neck will break! How many have leather couches?
Hehe, guilty! When did you first let them sit on the furniture?
Basically the first day she arrived! Hehe |

Riley sleeps in my bed with me throughout the night now. On top of the covers, though he often tries to stuff his nose/face under the covers. I let him start sleeping on my bed when he was perfectly house trained. • Sit/sleep on your furniture? Do they have their favorite piece of furniture? How many have leather couches? When did you first ley them sit on the furniture?
He is allowed on two couches, nothing else. Wouldn't say there is a favorite... one is upstairs and one is downstairs, so it depends where we are. We have one leather couch. Started letting him on the couches when he was about 6 months old.

| | Achilles' Mom | Sorry, bad Dobie mom here. My Achilles does not get to sleep in bed with us. He's just gotten too big and the vet says he's only started and not even close to his full growth. He also has a preference for his kennel and bed. We got him a really nice setup though. As for the couches, he's not supposed to be on the furniture, but apparently my opinion does not count in his doggy mind. When he gets caught he merely looks at me with a really bored expression and then yawns. I loose. Regularly. |

| Both of my dogs sleep in the bed with me and Hubby. We have a double pillow top cali king, and I STILL end up sleeping with my legs draped over Duke or in some awkward position. How the hubby, the dobie, and our little 15 lb mix takes up so much room, I will never understand it! But they're spoiled. Also they are allowed all over our faux leather couches, which held up for about a year, and are now torn on the arms. I'd say that Duke's favorite place to be however, is the lap of whoever is unfortunate enough to be sitting down ANYWHERE. He doesn't understand how huge he is!

| Wow, what an old post, 2006! But to answer, in case I didn't before:
Yes, Kiss sleeps with me, under the covers, from the minute I got her home. She sits, stands, lays, etc. on ANY piece of furniture she wants to. Because I LET her. Of course she will get down if I tell her to, but hey, I had already decided before I got her that she would be welcome in those places. God, I love this dog! |

| Jasmine more so decided that she was sleeping with me each night ha. She is a major cuddler too! She will come on the couch sometimes if I'm on it, but for the most other than my bed, she stays off the furniture on her own. She likes to lay on the floor in front of me wherever I am and play with her toys or chew one of her bones. |

One day, Jaina will be allowed on the bed. We have a king-size, so it's perfect size for her. For now, though, she sleeps in a crate - otherwise, she keeps mama up by trying to eat everything in the room Plus, I use silicon wax earplugs every night to drown out snoring, and I'd hate to wake up to a dog licking my ear.
• Sit/sleep on your furniture? Do they have their favorite piece of furniture? How many have leather couches? When did you first ley them sit on the furniture?
She IS allowed on our couch, but I don't use it very often. My SO hates having her on there, but I've never seen it as an issue since she doesn't shed nearly as much as the cat. She's always been allowed on the furniture.

| I mentioned Kaiser (beloved pet sitting client) in another thread, and this is him again. He was a very well-trained and obediant boy. If I was sitting on the couch, he'd put a paw up, which was his way of asking to come up. If you said no, he'd lie on the floor (with that ''why do you hate me?" look on his face lol), if you said "okay'', he'd hop up, lie next to you with his chin on your arm or shoulder and his ears plastered flat to his head...soooo happy!
As for bed, well, he had his own dog bed, but I, as house-sitter slept in the guest room..which had a water bed. One night something woke me up, I listened a bit..nothing..went back to sleep. (could hear him breathing normally, not concerned). Woke up again, this time I turned on the light to find Kaiser in mid-crawl at the foot of the bed. ie front end on the bed, one hind foot on the bed. He froze in place when the light came on..lol. As soon as I spoke he kind of launched to lie right on top of me. As we all know, Dobies are pretty bony/pokey! (plus, he was a big boy and I could feel the wood of the waterbed under me...fortunately, he listened when I told him to get down!)
I used to take him with me almost everywhere (normal for him with his owners too) and he wouldn't ask to jump up on any couch other than his own, but he would turn around and sit with his butt on couches and chairs. Fortunately, nobody seemed to mind!

| | Lil Pup | Sometimes I let my doberman sleep in the bed but he only gets in bed with permission. He is allowed on the couch but will always wait for my okay if I am on the couch as well. He will sometimes get on the couch at night to sleep. He doesn't much like the current bed he has so I am hoping to save up to get up a nice soft one again.I cover him up all the time. He has his own pillows and his own blanket hah. I gave him his own because anytime he sleeps in someones bed he positions a pillow for himself so that he can lay his head on it lol.
He gets cold very easy which is why he is covered up so often. He loves being covered up. When i put his sherpa blanket over him he falls asleep very fast and sleeps very hard!
attached is a picture of him on my bed at my dad's house. He feels so special on any furniture! |

| Logan doesnt go on furiture nor does he jump on our bed. His previous owner trained him not to. And while my previous Dob Jazz did both, i much prefer that logan doesnt because he is a moose....he is literally 2 times the size of my previous dob. he will however put one of his butt cheeks on the couch and does a weird leaning thing thats quite hysterical to watch. He knows he isnt allowed fully on the couch so he does it at as sneaky way of sitting on it. And he is so tall that he is actually the perfect height to have all 4 paws on the ground and still manage to put his butt on the couch.
He also thinks i am a chair when i am sitting on the floor. He HAS to always sit in my lap ....his previous owners wife says that he thinks he is still 8 lbs. And its totally true. |

| Do you let your doberman……
• Sleep in your bed with you?
Yes they do sleep in bed with me/us. Do they sleep on top or under the covers?
Mimi sleeps under the covers spooned into one of our legs and alternates between us all night. Boss sleeps between us on top of the covers with his head on my pillow. When did they first start sleeping in the bed?
Boss started sleeping in our Bed when he was about 14 weeks old and Mimi started about 2 weeks after we got her from the rescue. Or do they have their own bed?
They do have their own bed but they think my bed is theirs and they allow us to sleep with them but they are pretty vocal if we disturb their rest. • Sit/sleep on your furniture?
Yes they do and they particularly enjoy sitting behind us in our chairs. Do they have their favorite piece of furniture?
Whatever furniture that allows them to be on top of us is their current favorite. When did you first let them sit on the furniture?
From day one! |

| Do you let your doberman……
• Sleep in your bed with you?
No, we don't. I let Porter sleep with me when I had him and was a single gal, and that wasn't so bad. Once I wasn't single anymore, it was a bit of a fight for space. (One of the guys I dated woke up with dog hair stuck in his teeth one morning. THAT was hysterical.) Do they sleep on top or under the covers?
N/A Or do they have their own bed?
Grizzly has two very expensive beds and sleeps on neither of them. They're decorative at this point. He prefers my ottoman or his blankie. • Sit/sleep on your furniture?
Yes. Do they have their favorite piece of furniture?
Grizzly particularly loves my ottoman, and he loves our bed. (He can be on the bed all day and all evening if he'd like, but he gets kicked off once it's lights out.) When did you first let them sit on the furniture?
It took a while, maybe until he was about 5 months old. I thought I wouldn't allow him to be on any furniture, but one day I went into the family room and he just looked so comfy and happy on the couch. I didn't correct him because he was too cute, and it was over from that point on. |

| Our pup is only about 8-12 weeks old (rescue) but right now, he is taking up my side of the bed, forcing me to the middle of the king sized bed. My JRT is under the covers, and my cat is at the foot.
Not sure where my husband will sleep tonight. |
