| I use a scooper. Sometimes daily, sometimes every other day. Sometimes twice a day if it's nice and I feel like being outside.
I wouldn't say I inspect it but it's pretty hard not to notice extraordinary things like blue blanket fuzz or red pieces of a Kong.
I have 7 dogs currently. They all seem to have their own "areas" that they prefer. However, in the winter, I have a small greenhouse (8' X 10') on my patio. I put down a bag or two of cedar shavings and all new dogs are being taught to poop in there for easy pick-up. I can't exactly pick up poops that are 200 yards from the house in 3 feet of snow and I don't enjoy the giant spring clean-up if you get my drift. I've got 3 dogs that will poop in the greenhouse on shavings and it makes my life a little better!
Lawn damage is a fact of life. My summer hobby is growing grass. I put up ex-pens and reseed certain areas every year.
There are local rules about how much a bag can weigh, there is one that says "manure" is not to be put out but then another that says it can't be wet, there's also something about it not being visible. I guess they don't want it in clear recycling-type bags. All in all, my township sends out a very mixed message on the disposal of poop. |

| What is your preferred method of poop pick-up? (pooper scooper, glove and bag, etc)
I use the bin liner in a bucket (easy to carry) and the shovel routine. Length of shovel handle keeps hands at a nice distance for item to be shovelled! Who is the designated pooper picker upper? (You, designated spouse, children, third-party vendor)
Me, and only me. Why, I don't know, I must be good at the job and no one wants to break my heart and take it away from me. How often do you pick-up poop? (daily, weekly, monthly) What is the weight per volume do you estimate you remove?
Daily, Jeddah is on a total raw diet, but Shila the greyhound is on raw with kibble. Give me a complete raw diet anyday!! Sorry Kratty, can't weigh for you, kitchen scales have sadly died. Do you inspect the poop for proper digestion of food or other reasons?
Yes, just a cursory glance, usually with one eye closed hoping not to find anything that I shouldn't. Does your dog only use one specific area or is the whole yard used?
Why use the one spot, when you have a whole yard at your disposal? What technique or methods do you use to prevent lawn damage?
As we are currently going through a drought and very strict water restrictions, our once lovely green lawn is now just a dry and dusty desert. So, no I'm not worrying about lawn damage at the moment. lol Do your local ordinances specify specific requirements to dispose of the dog waste?
I dispose of the waste in biodegradable bags, straight into the rubbish bin. Our local regulations require dog owners to pick up after dogs in public areas, otherwise fined. You can be fined on the spot, if you're not carrying a bag for disposal. I always make sure that we take out two-three bags on our walks. Just in case you need a spare..... |

| I do ALL that . My dogs have 16 acreas to pick from so they usually go out in the field, but the puppy he stays close to home. There is only one thing "I wish I could or someone else could, come up with an idea to use all the "do-do" for the good of mankind!! Maybe for the making of energy!! I'd be RICH!!! |

| | Big Dog | What is your preferred method of poop pick-up? (pooper scooper, glove and bag, etc)
We use plastic bags from the stores. I save them all, especially the produce ones.
Who is the designated pooper picker upper? (You, designated spouse, children, third-party vendor)
I do mostly, but but hubby helps too.
How often do you pick-up poop? (daily, weekly, monthly) What is the weight per volume do you estimate you remove?
In our back yard we pick it up about every other day, I would guess we could fill a kitchen-size trash can in a months time.
Do you inspect the poop for proper digestion of food or other reasons?
My first concern is to notice if and how many times they've even gone. (in case I have to go out at least I know they're alright to stay in the house) I do give it a glance when picking it up to make sure its normal.
Does your dog only use one specific area or is the whole yard used?
They can go where they like in the yard.
What technique or methods do you use to prevent lawn damage?
One of ours prefers the pavement, the other, well we just have to be quick so as not to effect the lawn.
Do your local ordinances specify specific requirements to dispose of the dog waste?
We have dog bins provided throughout our neighborhood that we use regularly. |

| We used to use a latex glove and plastic bag to pick up the poop on a daily basis. I always checked to make sure Jack had a normal poop. I used to pick it up in the morning and my hubby did the evening patrol. Jack was very consistent. He ate, he pooped. He usually went in one are of the yard and since my hubby kept the grass short, it was easy to see his "landmines" as my hubby called them. Since we lived in the country, we would put them all in a large plastic bag and toss in the garbage. I can't even estimate how much he pooped, but the bag got heavy. |

My preferred method is never to have to do it!
[*]Who is the designated pooper picker upper? (You, designated spouse, children, third-party vendor)
Whoever steps in it.
[*]How often do you pick-up poop? (daily, weekly, monthly) What is the weight per volume do you estimate you remove?
The dogs love the pasture, so it never gets picked up - just is left to the elements.
[*]Do you inspect the poop for proper digestion of food or other reasons?
I make an effort to do this at least once a week to check.
[*]Does your dog only use one specific area or is the whole yard used?
Usually in the pasture or on my orientals!!!!

[If we are away from home, a plastic bag and glove. * Do you inspect the poop for proper digestion of food or other reasons?
Once a week, I make an effort to check the stools.

We live in a rural area of horse farms, so there is no ordinance. One can just assume what one does with it!

Double bag the hand with plastic Safeway grocery bags, transfer to another grocery bag for disposal. Who is the designated pooper picker upper? (You, designated spouse, children, third-party vendor)
Im his only friend when it comes to poop pick up time. How often do you pick-up poop? (daily, weekly, monthly) What is the weight per volume do you estimate you remove?
Weekly, probably 5 lbs or so at least. Do you inspect the poop for proper digestion of food or other reasons?
Yes, I inspect for bits of his kong balls, or other foreign matter. To avoid potential health problems, and to know when its time to throw out and replace certain toys. Does your dog only use one specific area or is the whole yard used?
I trained him to only poop on a certain small gravel patch far from the door and pool. Nothing is worse than swimming in the pool on a hot summer day and having Norman poop baking 3 feet away. What technique or methods do you use to prevent lawn damage?
See above answer. Although, Rye grass seed and a little top soil fixes any pee spots he might make in the grass. Do your local ordinances specify specific requirements to dispose of the dog waste?
Nope, but the HOA will fine me if there is any excess poop in the yard at the weeks end. |

Pooper scooper at home, baggie away from home. Who is the designated pooper picker upper? (You, designated spouse, children, third-party vendor)
That would be me and only me. Donnie refuses. How often do you pick-up poop? (daily, weekly, monthly) What is the weight per volume do you estimate you remove?
In the winter on work days once a day, in the summer I just scoop every time a dog goes, so several times a day. Do you inspect the poop for proper digestion of food or other reasons?
Not particularly, although I certainly notice if something is different. Does your dog only use one specific area or is the whole yard used?
In the winter they use the 1/3 of my yard that is graveled with no dirt. In the summer they use they can use either side of the yard, lawn or gravel. What technique or methods do you use to prevent lawn damage?
They aren't allowed on the lawn when the ground is wet. Do your local ordinances specify specific requirements to dispose of the dog waste?
I have no idea, and frankly it wouldn't matter. I would still dispose of it.
