| Canadian Nationals Results Congratulations to all of the competitors at the German Shepherd Schutzhund Club of Canada Nationals. GSSCC Nationals 2008 | Competitors List
The Western Region had a very strong showing with the 6 top GSD placings all coming from the Western Region. Ralph Gilby and Billy from the Delta Sch Club, took top honors for the second year in a row. Second place was actually an alternative breed, a Bouvier, handled by Brian Currey. That was the only team in the top 7 not from the Western Region. Ken Trouten from Lower Mainland got 3rd, William Fan,also from Lower Mainland fifth. My club had one member, Gabi Hoffman make the world team with a 4th place finish, and another West Coast member, Rosalyn Jamieson, is the alternate. An associate member of my club, Darryl Haringsma (was a member of West Coast but moved to Vancouver Island 2 years ago) placed 6th and got the cherished 5th spot on the world team. |

| Thanks for posting this! I'm just starting to learn more about the Sch world
Pardon my next very newb question, but, what does it mean in the scores (i'm looking at the SCh III ones) when there is a "/" in place of points or the total? And what does NC (no control) mean? |

And what does NC (no control) mean? | NC could mean a few things. It could have been completely out of control and did not respond to the handlers commands, creating a somewhat dangerous situation as well as a bad picture to the public. It could mean that the dog did not out (let go of the sleeve) but usually they will specify that as failure to out. It could also mean that it bit the helper in the transport phase or somewhere else where it is not supposed to. Though the judge will generally allow a tad bit of molesting of the helper to occur. No scores listed could mean the dog was pulled or it might not have engaged the decoy, or was dismissed in some way by the judge. |

| Oh yeah, I forgot that Adler Tal Kennels is John and Tammy Kowalczyk's GSD kennel name. I think 5 of the 7 dogs from that A litter are Schutzhund titled. |

And what does NC (no control) mean? | I was reading the program this afternoon and it said in the rules for the Nationals that if a dog was disqualified in any phase they would not be able to do the other phases so that is the most likely scenario for the lack of scores being posted. |
