I am looking to adopt a Male doberman to act as my assistance dog. Mainly for balance and walking. I have Multiple Sclerosis and my balance is what I have the worst time with.
Anyone know of anyone who places Dobies for assistance dogs or anyone with a Male that would be perfect for the training?

Hi Cindy:

I have someone coming to meet the Dobe I'm fostering supposedly this week. He's been waiting for about 3 weeks for s rescue Dobe. But if he changes his mind and/or doesnt come to meet this boy, then you'll be notified immediately.

I know that recently the head of our Doberman rescue group has posted that "it's raining Dobes" --- she's been taking a lot of new dogs, in fact more than she can handle, but she's finding a way.

So I would think she can help you. The dog I am caring for would definitely be a good possibility for you since he is so mellow and stable.

You should go to her website and fill out her application and she'll get in touch. I will also be sure to let her know we've communicated.

Pinsch of Heaven Doberman Rescue. They are based in Knoxville, the vet I work at in Oak Ridge does a lot of their veterinary care. We just amputated the front leg on a 3 month old blue male puppy for them. I know they have a lot available right now.
