| We live in Stone Mounain. My dobie is 6 months old. I did not have much luck finding a vet in the Atlanta area and used Dr William Martin in Asheville NC. He is a retired vet and this is all he does now is ear cropping. Dager's ears are beautiful. Dr Bill did the ear crop and then our local vet handled the posting. We drove up early on a Friday morn and brought him home that night.
Just a suggestion, I tried the first couple of times to do the posting and found that I did a terrible job and it was cheaper to have the vet do them each week.
I have put his website below. Good luck! www.earsbydrbill.com/our_services |

| The OP of this thread has not logged back onto DT since they posted this thread. However, for others who may read this- I took the liberty of contacting a member of the SDPC (Atlanta Doberman Pinscher Club) to ask for ear cropper recommendations. This is what they had to say: "If one wants cropped ears, they need to buy from a reputable breeder who does it for them I recommend not to crop. Honestly I'm hardpresed to even find vets who will crop, and then you have to consider if they will do a decent job AND have good aftercare---good taping, etc. However, I do have the names of 2 Vets that other people have recommended. I've not seen their work, but the people that used them were happy. I'm not sure how good these people will be since those that have used them may not have seen Patty's (the late Patricia Edwards DVM) work in comparison. Please warn the person that if you don't get a great recommendation, you could end up with different sized ears, crooked ears, etc. Many vets won't crop and some that do are dong it only for the $$, not because they are skilled." Phone: (352) 748-5454 I believe that there are quite a few DT members whose dogs have been cropped by Dr. McBride who would be able to provide feedback and pictures. |
