Texas area "breeders" to avoid

Hi all!

I live up in the Dallas area, looking to find a breeder to get a dobe in the next year or so. I am glad I found this forum - I was pretty well set on Garrett's Dobermans - they are local and have a nice webpage - but then I started seeing some interesting things here, which made me second guess my instincts.

Are there any other breeders you know I should steer clear of? I'm hoping to use one fairly close to DFW just so that my kids can interact and see the puppies some before we take our new family member home.

For instance, anyone have any dealing with North Texas Dobermans (North Texas Dobermans - Home)

Thanks!

I reccomend that you stay away from that breeder! They have dogs from one of the bigger euro greeders in Texas.

Check out the DPCD website and contact Lynn Eggars. She is the referral person for our club.

We have a meeting coming up on 2/19 at Fudruckers in Grapevine. The meeting info is also on the website. You would be more than welcome to come and meet some of the breeders that are members.

Speaking of Euro dobes, any input on Stellar Dobermans (Stellar Dobermans - Home).

I'm beginning to think that doberman breeders - the good ones at least - aren't as easy to find on the inter-webs!

Thanks! I'll try to come if I can.

Not impressed. You can do much better for $2500.

You need to look at what health testing is done and what the breeder actually DOES with their dogs besides breed them. An ethical breeder will title their dogs and do the necessary health testing.
