Our next meeting is next Saturday. We are well on out way to becoming official and will be hosting a small conformation show soon so we're going to start handling training. This group requires WDA membership($50 application fee and dues that will be split up every 6 months). Very friendly and welcoming folks and there are new and seasoned veterans in the group. We just want you to have fun and train with your dog, and if you're serious about titles we will help get you there too.
Update: You do not have to be a member of the WDA to join the group. There are different levels of membership, one of the board members can explain all of that for anyone interested.
To be official, we have to host a conformation show and a trial. First is conformation. We have a fun match coming up that anyone with a purebred dog can enter. Here is the info I just typed up. We are hoping for a big turn out! Would LOVE to see lots of Dobies there!

Next month Houston Hundesport will be hosting a fun match dog show for all breeds in Dickinson at the private home of Rallhaus German Shepherds. The man that will be judging it is Fred Lanting. He is author of The Total German Shepherd and Canine Hip Dysplasia and other Orthopedic Disorders. You can read about him here:
This show will not be for points or titles but there will be prizes. Fred will also be hosting a seminar(topic to be determined) at lunch so it would be great to hear him speak. We will also have raffle prizes/silent auction.
You do not need to be an experienced handler or have a show dog to enter in the show. All levels of experience are welcome and rescue dogs are welcome. There is a month or so until the show, so if you are seriously interested and your dog has never been in a show, start getting them used to being handled and examined by a stranger and gaiting/being stacked.
I will post a flyer when we have one available. This is all I have for now, thanks and please pass the info along!
Hi, I'm going to be moving to the Houston area next month. I lost my Dobe almost a year ago but plan to get a sport Dobe next year, where does your club train?
