Hello everyone. I am looking to find a vet in the dfw area that does good ear cropping.
My puppy is only 6 days old and I do not get to bring her home for another 5 weeks but I want to already have a vet lined up to get her ears cropped at the medium length style when she is 8 weeks old.
So any help and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
I don't have any vet recommendations for you but...
please reconsider bringing your pup home at 6 weeks of age. That is way to young to be taken from the dam and littermates.
Responsible breeders will have their pups cropped prior to sending them to their new homes and will not send them before 8 weeks of age at the earliest.
If your pup is only 6 days old and you are getting her in 5 weeks, then that is WAY to young to take her. I believe it is illegal to sell puppies before they are 8 weeks old in TX. Can you get her to wait until the puppy is at least 8 weeks?
Here are some other questions to ask your breeder:
1. Are the sire and dam tested for cardio? If so, how and when?
2. Are the sire and dam tested for hips?
3. vWD?
4. Thyroid?
5. Are the sire and dam titled in a venue?
6. What types of socialization do the breeders follow?
7. Will the breeder be taking care of the ear crop? If no, why not?
