Beetle and Bella ran a good campaign but we where no match for Sebastian and Bears hilaroius agendas and campaign advertisements. I don't know you personally but from what you have posted you are very passionate about everthing you do whether it is being owned by Sebastian or building cool chairs, you do things whole hearted and there is alot to be said for that. You are an asset to DT and I think i speak for everyone hear when i say you and Sebastian are well liked here. | You guys are really being nice and I appreciate the comments, very much - but this really isnt about me feeling unliked or Sebastian being unliked. It is about accountability, my desire to launch something (that would benefit greatly from that accountability) and a subtle undercurrent of elitism.
I really dont wanna beat this to death. Its already gone too far. It is what it is and I'm going to just forget about it and keep moving regardless of it. Thats what I should have done in the first place. Sorry. |

| hmm I'm confused. I don't know what "elitism" you are talking about.
And in regards to the bios and pics not getting posted in a timely manner, it was a combination of us not having the privs to do it, and TD being away from the forum. Sometimes real life gets in the way of things we need to do here, and understandably, real life comes first. I understand your wanting to get everything posted and moving, and I apologize it wasn't done sooner, but I think a mountain is being made out of a molehill here. |

And I have been in the crazy restaurant industry for almost 20 years. I know all about circumstances, confusion, juggling, stress, etc etc.
But I also know about communication.
To hear NOTHING from ANYONE...puts everything into a highly questionable sphere. One word makes all the difference. Put yourself in my shoes and you will see that it is not irrational to start making conclusions based on a lack of effort to properly communicate and explain. In addition, add in the fact that WE are the ones who pushed the process. This makes people wonder - IF people are not properly explaining what is going on. If it cannot get done, my tactic has always been to delegate - but at bare minimum - communicate. Otherwise, it is only natural that people will start to fill in the blanks on their own.
I am a lover of peace and avoid conflict at all costs. I dont make up dramas, trying to create unnecessary bs. It drains everyones lifeforce.
My eyes are on the end result - a highly activated force of anti-bsl organizations, nationwide - hopefully worldwide - fighting for our beloved Doberman and other breeds that are discriminated against due to ignorance, stupidity or malice. This is at the forefront of all of this and I expected that the admin would have recognized this and backed it more.
And if not available immediately...or for a time...I UNDERSTAND THAT...just communicate. Very simple. |

And if not available immediately...or for a time...I UNDERSTAND THAT...just communicate. Very simple. | Its probably meant towards me. Since its turning into a car wreck, I might as well add some more. Communication is a two way street. Dialog should go back and forth. I made the effort to contact you directly about this on numerous occasions. You didn't initiate any contact with me on this. So its disappointing that you are saying your heard nothing from us. Especially since My last message to you was from a few weeks ago.
As I explained in my earlier post, the issue we were having was I didn't have the correct access rights to create the module for the Presidential Winners. Unfortunately, TD was unavailable at the time and we had to wait until he came back to either grant me access or create the module. This has nothing to do with delegation of responsibility. Without the proper access rights, on the forum, you can't delegate anything. It just doesn't work that way.
In my last message I sent to you, this was all explained and you indicated you understood. Nothing has changed since that last message. Well as luck would have it, TD came back to the site today, so maybe we can things moving again.
I agree that this ran into a lot of bumps and didn't turn out as expected. It does happen, unfortunately. This never has been blown off and deemed not important. Its been on the things that need to be done list all the time. And we had to wait until we had the proper person with access to do this. Its just that simple.
I have a lot going on right now thats Non-DT stuff, which is not being used as an excuse, because I still have been here working on stuff for this site when I have time. It just came at a time the staff had stuff outside of DT to address and we juggled things around the best we could.
It is discouraging to me, that you decided to not continue to communicate directly with me, as we have been doing in the past, and choose to address it this way. But to each there own I guess.

| XXX. Kratty, I am going to pm you tomorrow.
I am to blame for bringing this out into the forum and lament any damage it has caused. Although I have firm convictions about aspects of this, I should not have dragged it out like this into the forum and I regret not continuing to meet it head on in private messages.

Please don't leave us.
You are one of the most passionate and caring persons I know in life (the internet is "real" as well - if anyone would like to contest that, I'm game).
You're witty comments and intelligent responses are so very valuable here on DT .
Your concern for the Doberman breed, Sebastian, and DT members' furkids is exemplary and should be appreciated. Lastly, I'm glad that you didn't treat the election as a silly game because the issues that concern this breed are serious. Since this is the most popular and most educated site for Doberman information it would be ideal that activism regarding responsible dog ownership start here on DT.
I hope that soon DobermanTalk will not only be a place for fun, but for action regarding legislation and a unification of passionate Dober-Owners in "real-life" for lack of a better term, as well.
**Christina**
P.S. For those who are wondering, I am the Executive Director of Dobermans United and my vision is to help create and manage a nationwide congregation of unified Doberman owners who are not only responsible, but proactive in their communities. I have been working with Jon and the founders of DU to create satellite chapters of DU all over the US. Hopefully, one day our vision will come to fruition.

I hope I didn't offend you with my statement ( " I honestly thought the election was just a spoof.. something cute and fun like the Halloween costume contests") but I'm betting I'm not the only one who thought the same. What a shame. If the election/contest was supposed to be a serious springboard to help fight bsl, the intent was probably lost in the levity and humor infused in the "campaign".
Christina, what you and Jon are trying to accomplish is truly admirable and I hope your efforts get more attention going forward.

I am the one who added the element of seriousness in presenting the Dobermans United plan as "our primary goal" in the campaign. So it was a crazy, fun event but I wanted to use our visibility on the "bio page" and home page as a vehicle to get the word out. That is where the seriousness started. Otherwise, I was peeing my pants with laughter, at least once a day! |

No offense here Lyngr. I just wanted to support Jon for his efforts.
The election was hilarious!! My statement above was only to share a little more about what Jon is trying to accomplish and what DU is about.
Yes I know the election was for fun, but why not take it one step further to benefit the breed and to improve upon the way we own our animals- it was an political campaign, no? |
