| I agree with 2gooddobes!! I would laugh at so many things Avalon would post and learn a lot form the other things that he would post. Very good in sites! I hope he decides not to leave!!
From what he posted earlier today I am not sure who said what but he seems pretty upset!! |

| I am not sure what is going on either being that I have not been around recently. I can vouch for Kratty not being able to do what he wanted to do with the BIO's, I didnt realize he was unable to edit the home page. Blame me.

| Sorry I dont think anyone is trying to place a specific blame on someone... I think everyone just wants to make sure everything is good and back to normal... |

TD | No, No TD... not blaming anyone... and I'm not sure this has anything to do with Kratty not being able to post the bios anyways. It's the following post made early this morning in another thread that concerns me: Quote:

In a way I understand. In another way, it is a very sad gap. My runt Sebastian absolutely changed my view of dogs, breeds and the relationship between them and mankind. He brought me to this forum. Sebastian brought me to a state of amazement, astonished that such a dog existed, intentionally. But he is not the stately, conformed, perfection that the Doberman community embraces - obviously, he and Bear were voted in for other crazy reasons.
Actually, except for his height, he befits the European standard better...a bit darker in the rust markings and more stocky...I like that about him.
But really, WHO CARES?
He is a Doberman (period). I will never be without one the rest of my days. That is what matters.
Bye. | And finally, his last post in the "Made me Sick" thread... (probably one of his favorite threads): Quote:

| I probably should not have posted that - should have just kept it to myself. I deleted all of my posts and such a week or so ago but was thinking a little last night, got mad and started typing. But since I did post it, I will explain what Im upset about.
First of all, I have an immense love and respect for the beautiful Dobermans in this forum and I myself started off wanting to push for Petey and Cosmo for the cropped party (they had no interest tho). I had absolutely NO intention of getting involved with Sebastian - never even crossed my mind. But 2gooddobes PMd me and explained that the election needed another couple to run for the natural party. But instead of running a less than conformed Sebastian for president, I contacted Fawn to run Bear instead and let Sab be the VP. I paid the money and acted as the "campaign mgr" lol, but believed it would be much much better to have Bear as the president because of the Doberman standard and the visibility he would have.
With that said, I am not wrapped up in the bio being posted or any other petty parts of this. What I AM upset about is an apparent lack of enthusiasm from the mods/admin, that started at the time we entered the contest. Again, let me state that this is not about the contest. It is about what seems like a devaluing of some dogs due to more or less conformation. We had to repeatedly contact mods to keep the election going and it went down many weeks late. Furthermore, the election happened how long ago? No one contacted us about bios or anything, we contacted them. To a point, I tried to understand but when time drags on...no communication...coupled with the string of events from the start - it starts to look like something other than being busy. My last convo with Kratty was several weeks ago and I was told that TD would take care of it. I have heard nothing.
Lastly, the most important aspect of all of this has been my desire to expand the Dobermans United organization based out of the San Fransisco Bay area. I wanted to try to help organize chapters across the country, for the sake of the breed and very importantly, to fight bsl. This election was to be a springboard for that and I was very excited about it. I went to great lengths to make this known throughout the election and afterwards, including the last paragraph of Sebastians bio.
So although I am VERY passionate about preserving the breed, to the point of intentionally diverting the spotlight from my own dog, I have a real problem with what seems like elitism from admin and prominent members. Coupled with the loss of momentum with what I consider a very very important project (Dobermans United), yes I have been very upset. Given my stated intent to use this to promote something so potentially good for the breed, I would think that the mods and admin would be pushing very hard to help jumpstart the process.
I would love nothing more than to somehow know that this is about basic accountability and not snobbishness. But given the chain of events from the very beginning, I am having a real hard time recognizing it as such. |

| Jon, please take this as a totally non biased perspective (I am a novice Doberman owner and did not partake in showing Cinny.. I would've adopted her with or without any titles)..
As a regular member of DT, I honestly thought the election was just a spoof.. something cute and fun like the Halloween costume contests. I admit, I didn't follow it closely but from what I read, it seemed more like entertainment and a way to garner some donations to keep DT running.
Is it possible that you took it more seriously than what was originally intended?
I have also never seen anyone shunned for having a less than perfect Doberman. Some people here don't even own a Dobe. I had a rescue and never felt that way. Sure there are some people who clique better with others but that will happen anywhere.. internet or not.
As for being ignored, I would be shocked to find out that it had anything to do with Sabastian and what he looked like.
From my perspective, you & Sebastian are very popular here and I think we'd all miss you if you left but honestly, this seems a little melodramatic to me. jmho. I hope you reconsider because I enjoy your wit and passion for the breed.

~Lyn | I agree that the whole event was for fun and that is exactly how I approached it. Maybe I am over reacting or just not effectively communicating what it is I am upset about. There are a few elements of concern tied in with general accountability. In spite of the obvious triviality of the whole thing, It is somewhat embarrassing to see that the forum pres and vice pres are supposed to have their bios posted with pictures...and its on the front page for everyone to see...and it isn't being done. And this has NOTHING to do with Sebastian. If it were your dog, I would be just as embarrassed...why isnt this getting done? This is the best Doberman forum hands down and Id like to come across like we are a bit more on top of things (trivial or not). I have pushed for site contributions and want our membership and support to grow. As a businessman, accountability and perception are high on my list of priorities.
Again, this is also very tied to my own desire to launch something that I feel very passionate about. So what was indeed a very fun and silly event, was something I was hoping could be used to promote Dobermans United. Being visible, on the front page of the forum, was important to me for that reason.
Add to this, what I said about the ongoing fragmented and half hearted efforts to keep the process going, yes, I may have wrongly taken it personally - I sincerely hope this is the case. This is not an attempt to draw attention or be overly dramatic - I hate that kind of stuff! As I said earlier, I shouldn't have posted it and I know that some of my frustration is also emanating from several weeks of other frustrations.
Thank you for the kind expressions and know that I feel the same way about all of you too. My dog and this forum have truly been life changing experiences. Obviously I am deeply passionate about all of it - and will take this as a learning experience. |

| Jon, Please don't apologize for speaking what was on your mind. I think you getting upset just shows how passionate you are for this breed and your cause. I was the one who twisted your arm to be in the election and honestly i don't think it would have been much fun if you didn't participate. Beetle and Bella ran a good campaign but we where no match for Sebastian and Bears hilaroius agendas and campaign advertisements. I don't know you personally but from what you have posted you are very passionate about everthing you do whether it is being owned by Sebastian or building cool chairs, you do things whole hearted and there is alot to be said for that. You are an asset to DT and I think i speak for everyone hear when i say you and Sebastian are well liked here. |
