| Not too crazy about it either but, I'm sure the recent hack repairs cost a lot ( in time and money). If it helps keep the forum going...I'm all for it! |

I second that. Plus, any enhancements suggested or requested also cost time and money.
If everyone supported DT with at least a Bronze membership, I bet it would be a big help...if you are reading this thread, consider it. |

| | GranDoberFather | If the site owner needs these to keep the site up, then so be it. We're still working on bills for Camille, but when we're done paying those off, a gold membership will be purchased. A heartfelt Thank You to the owners of this wonderful forum. It and the people here have helped me through my loss of Camille. I don't know how I would have coped without Dtalk.

| Thanks for everyone's understanding of why this is now here. I find them annoying at times, but in the real world, the costs of this forum has doubled with all the upgrades TD had done recently. The move to a bigger server has been a big cost. It has solved the performance problems which plagued the site due to the growth and popularity of DT. If he can generate more income here and not burden himself with all these cost, then its a good thing. If he can not, then DT probably wouldn't exist any more. It would be great if we could have sponsors for the site. God knows we are always recommending stuff we like to others. If we can attract sponsors like this, the majority of these random ads can go away. Thanks again for your understanding and continued support.

| I agree that we can overlook these blue words in order to keep DT running. I, for one, would not like to see us shut down! Costs must be extremely high, especially with current hack job. We need to appeal to all the new members to JOIN and be a supporter at any level, so we can build up our cash cow for emergencies.
Our admin is great and very dedicated. We need to support them in every way we can. The blue words don't even bother me a little. Now that I know what they are, they bother me even less. |

| I just ran across a new add-on for Mozilla Firefox that makes all the ad's (and those little blue highlighted words) go away. Some sites I visit have so many their pages are half blank now lol.
For those of you that use Firefox, the add-on is called Adblock plus. |

| Yes the blue words are advertisements and yes DT does get revenue from them. There is no other way that I could keep the site going without them.
But.....what I have decided to do is to remove ALL Google Ads and Kontera advertisements from those members that are supporting DT. So if you are a supporting member Bronze, Silver or Gold then you will not see the advertisements at all.
If you are a supporting member and you still see the ads then try logging out and logging back in. If you still see them then shoot me a PM and I will look into it, otherwise you should not see the ads any more.
For those members that do not support DT and do not want to see the ads click on the Remove Advertisements button to learn how you can remove the ads.
Thanks
TD

I think all the ads bothered and distracted me more than the average member for some reason and I'm sooo happy to have them gone. I know you need them to pay for the site, but I love that they aren't viewable to supporting members now. Really great idea!
Thanks again, TD!!
P.S. and to help even more, you can count me in for Gold supporter next time. Do we get a reminder PM when our donation runs out for the year?
