Site boots me out when I try to post

Sometimes (but only erratically), after I push the "post quick reply" option, the site asks me to login again, and I find that generally I have lost the material I just typed. Am I doing something wrong, or is this some quirk of the system that there is a way around? It is annoying to spend a lot of time carefully crafting a response to have it blown into etherspace!

I understand your fustration with typing a post and replying only to have it wiped out..very frustrating indeed. If I had a nickel for everytime I lost an internet post I would prolly have an extra $5.00 in my pocket by now.

I personally have not experienced the trouble you describe ON www.DobermanTalk.com but a few others have. I have a few suggestions you can try: When logging in make sure you put the check box in "Remember Me". You can try deleting your cached internet files, in other words delete your Temp internet files and your cookies from your computer to see if that helps.

Post back with your findings after you try that. If it still does not resolve your problem we may need more information from you like what ISP are you using to connect to the site, what type of computer do you have and the OS type and version. Lets hope it does not come down to all that.

Thanks
TD

If all else fails highlight your entire post before hitting submit and save it to clipboard. It may be annoying but I have had to do it on some sites and it sure does beat having to retype it all just in case.

I've had that happen but not on quick reply. If you post normally, not quick, and get logged out once you log back in your post will still show up.

I've been using "quick reply". Didn't even see the other option. I'll try that. In the meantime, what's the difference between the two?

With quick reply it is just that. Something just to type a message and hit reply and it's done. With the normal reply you get options like the smiley options )D , add pictures, change fonts, colors or whatever else you would like to do in the post.
