Memberships on this site....just a thought

What happened to people using this site as a resource and a place to share thoughts and stories about the best damn breed out there. We have had some bad apples posting some awful threads over the weekend. First the Bitch Leasing Cars Salesman and then the obnoxious Doberman hater from Scottland.

any chance we can boot some of these individuals? I use to love coming on here and learning but recently its been posts that just infuriate me.

we could just ignore them but that just wouldn't be as much fun as giving them the boot!

Anyone agree?

Our main goal is to educate people and help them make the best decision for their lives and for the good of the breed. Often times people don't want to listen and will find the illuminated exit sign themselves. There have only been about 5 people I can recall being actually banned from the site, so in most cases I don't think it's necessary.

There's always bound to be some not-so-nice people who like to cause drama on forums. That's just the way it is. And its also the reason that "take what you want and leave the rest" is a popular statement here.

Unless these individuals are being abusive/insulting toward members, or are breaking forum rules, we can't just ban them because we don't "like" them or agree with what they say. If the member is intentionally trying to start something, the best way to deal with people like this is to ignore them - which includes not replying to their threads or posts which only encourages them. If they don't get any replies and can't push peoples' buttons, they will get bored and leave on their own.

However, since this is an educational forum, if the poster appears to be sincere, but woefully ignorant, perhaps they came to the right place to learn the "right" way to do things. The hard part is "showing them the way" nicely without scaring them off, lol. Just think of the dog(s) who may have a better life because of the education they received on this forum.

I always thought that this was a forum for education as well as to share ideas, common knowledge, advice, just knowing that someone else was going through the same things as you are, and to talk with others who share your love of the doberman breed. Lately, I feel as if it is a "us against them" forum. I really like this forum and don't want to see all this adversity. Just venting.
