Faq / Sticky Forum?

I think it might be a good addition to the forum, to compile alot of the really informative threads in one area that can easily be referenced for both newcomers and older members. I think it might be a good way to limit some of the frequently asked questions about ear posting, feeding, grooming, training etc. The forum could be open to posting or closed. I realize the town hall topics forum probably covers some good info but i'm not sure it's getting the recognition it needs, and most of the info there is pretty subjective. Maybe just expand that forum to incorporate the information I am suggesting. Let's hear what everyone else has to say.

I think we should add some of our controversial topics to the list as well. If we show what we have up front maybe we can prevent all these recreate threads that tend to get a little well heated. Just my two cents.

I think that both of those are good ideas.

On the dreaming forum that I am an admin of, we have a Tutorials section that is basically a collection of member-made threads that were good enough to use as tutorials. The Tutorial forum is locked so regular members can't create or edit threads in there. The threads are not for replying and discussion, but for informational purposes only. Have a look at our tutorial section to see what it's like. As you can see, most of the threads do not have replies, because they were created for the sole purpose of being a tutorial.

All tutorials that are submitted need to be approved by the staff first and typed up and formatted in a way that is easy for people to read and understand.

In the case of DT, we would probably want to call it something else other than Tutorials, but you get the basic idea. We could have stuff in it like: How to Post Ears (including links and that video Kratty made), When to Spay/Neuter, Recommended Toys, Title Key and Information, etc, etc.

It would be easier to tell newbs to read all this info first, or direct them to a specific informational thread, than going over everything over and over again. Then post if they have any further questions, since this information will likely answer the most commonly asked questions.
