| Yup there's no age limit. But the dobe ring is really competitive and I had a hard time winning when I was 10 years old because most judges didn't take me seriously.
She should try out junior showmanship. It's for people 9-18 years old and there's a bunch of opportunities to win scholarships and such through it. It's also been a lot of fun for me. |

UKC and CKC both have peewees. I've never done UKC but in Canada the peewees had to be able to control their dog without the help of a parent/friend to show. Or that's how it was when I was up there a few years ago.
The general rule for breed is the person needs to be able to control the dog. Which is different for each dog/child. Judges and other handlers don't want the someone being dragged around the ring or have their dogs constantly sniffed. |

| | Alpha | My friends children, 5 and 6, show in the breed ring. They get quite the applause too! However, when they show it's usually a smaller and more well behaved dog, I think going in the Doberman ring would be a very different situation!
I think you absolutely should let her show if she enjoys and does well it could be something she'll enjoy for years! |

| Not AKC, British KC, but we have a junior handler who goes to my ringcraft class and WOW she is incredible; much more competent at handling than almost everyone else in the ring! She is amazing to watch, I think she's top 10 in the country or something. She handles all sorts of dogs, though her parents breed rough collies. |
