Unfortunately, that's not always the case. As we've said, it always comes back to the quality of the cartilege. If you've got really good cartilege, ears will stand quickly regardless of how long the crop might be.
If you've got less than optimum cartilege, then you're taking on a major project to get those ultra long ears to stand. When it's common place for your dogs to have to go right back into tape the minute they walk out of the ring at 12 months plus-then you've exceeded what your cartilege can really handle, IMO. That's asking too much of the owners, asking too much of the dog. And that's happening out there.
