Worst case scenario: I get a well socialized puppy who will show his teeth to strangers
| And let them fondle his testicles don't forget.
He's a handsome boy and I wish you all the best with all of his future endeavors. It will fun reading about all of his future adventures.

| Taking pups to dog shows and handling classes is a wonderful way to get them socialized and out in new enironments! Even if he ends up not winning any classes, it will be such a great experience for both of you! And if he does win... all the better!

| I know you took him to be evaluated, what did the handler you worked with say about his show potential? She did a good job stacking him and his rear looks a lot better in these pictures.
My biggest concern would be his front assembly. It looks like it is too far forward on his body, which does several things. It makes his neck look short, and his body look too long. He may when he fills out start to elbow out a bit because of the short upper arm bone.
He has some nice qualities. He has great bone and substance, a nice rear, good feet, balanced head in profile, although a bit more stop. His brisket is to his elbow, and he is a very dark brown. His eyes may darken with time too.
I hope that he turns out. He has a lot of growing to do and they sometimes grow in stages.
There were times I would worry about Reggie. For one he went through a stage that he could not handle his rear angles. He could hardly run without falling over himself. Then, for a while his croup was so steep I thought "Gah, his tailset is too low and croup too rounded" That fixed itself. For a time his topline was bouncy, he has mostly recovered from that too (was recent). I was obsessing over every little thing, and he seems to have come together. Can't get rid of his Steven Tyler lips though. He's slobbery.

Like I said, she said the best that she can tell me is that we can watch him grow. When I called her and told her I was bringing her a dobe with a "working pedigree" that I *might* want to show, I think she just didn't know what I was going to show up with. LOL. She seemed to like him though, she thought he had alot of good points, and there were alot of things that she said will hopefully come with age. I think it is a little hard, because we are not looking at the pedigree, we aren't going off of generation after generation of a certain "look", all she had to look at is what is in front of her. Obviously this litter was not bred for the breed ring, but I think Brownie is a nice looking boy....who knows what he will turn out to be. I hope he is a working machine with nice structure
Overall though, the experience was good. I am going to show him in UDC regardless, so no matter what, the training and experience will be great for him.
The woman who looked at him for me is so nice, and she is trying to help me better understand conformation as well (to me, learning is always a good thing) She has dobes herself, and she actually took them out and pointed out alot of their good points and bad points also. We sat down and went through a ton of the recent doberman digests and she pointed out goods, bads and uglies. Her sister is a pretty well known dobe breeder up in the New Jersey area, and she showed me photos of alot of her dogs also.
Anyway, like I said.......maybe I will get lucky and he will do well in ONE show.....I would be totally thrilled with that. If not.....thats okay too. I haven't lost anything for trying.
