| I knew a girl who showed her Z-factored black bitch for a while. I had met her when she had Great Danes. She didn't know what the "Z" in her registration number meant, her breeder (a one time show breeder who's had some problems) didn't tell her.
This girl was very much a pet. And, I hate to admit it, but I watched most of the people at the show be very unpleasant to her as they knew what the "Z" was and she didn't.
She asked me what I thought of her girl, and I gave her a frank answer - very much a pet, not a show quality girl. I also explained what to her what the "Z" was and that it was probably why she was getting the cold shoulder from the other competitors. I got an email a couple days later from her friend that was there with her thanking me for telling her what she had been saying all along, that her girl was a pet.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, show her if you want, it's certainly your right. But, don't be surprised at the attitude from others. |

| Have any Z's ever gotten a championship title in the day and age? Just curious... i would wonder what breeding program would produce show quality Z factored dogs that could make it in the show arena |

According to the standard there are four acceptable colors, black, red, blue, and fawn, and she is not one of those. Sorry. |
She is not white, she is blue. Sorry, forgot to mention that. |

Most judges aren't doberman breeder judges, and so it would be pretty unlikely for them to even know what the z represented in a registration number anyway.
The doberman ring is highly competitive in the best of situations. Many, many dogs who were bred specifically for the ring from the best of lines are unable to earn a championship. The odds of a z factored dog actually being able to earn that title are pretty low-too many dogs of extremely poor quality behind them and few good quality z free dogs available to people who perpetuate the albino trait.
I can't think of a better way to alienate your fellow exhibitors than trying to show a z factored dog in conformation..btw, it's conFORMation, you show your dog to see how well it conforms to the breed standard.

To show her, I suspect you may have some difficulties as she could use a little more front angulation and fill in the front.
Dog shows are hard work; lots of prep time and practice. Having a championship doesn't mean your dog is necessarily better than others; not having a championship doesn't mean your dog is worse than others - it does mean you've put a lot of time and effort into raising the best dog you can, training and conditioning it properly to ensure it is well presented in the show ring. And, with the cost of gas today, along with parking and entry fees, you can look at least $100/show - it's not uncommon to take 100 shows to finish a doberman.
If you want to try it; go for it - but know that it's a lot of work, time, and money.

| No offense intended, but I'd say yeah, she is a pet. From the pictures in your gallery, I'd say her topline, croup & tailset would keep her out of any serious ribbon competition. Quote:
