| Rexy earned 2 legs toward CDX...finally!!!!! Pictures..... Rex had a good weekend, finally finding his focus Sat and Sunday and qualifying 2 days for his CDX. He was 2nd in the class each time he qualified. He sat on the drop on recall Thursday, and crouched with elbows 2" from the ground on Friday. I called that mat the "no drop" zone!!
I did not do sit/down stays until Sat and Sunday. I did not want to blow the only sit stays he had in him on days when he had already NQ'd. I also discovered that he LOVES apple/cinnamon Nutrigrain bars and will do anything for a chunk of one...my new ringside treats prior to show time!
Pictures include Rexy , Cheers with her ball, and some classmates.....A Dane, a Border Terrier, and a Frenchie. The Border got his first UDX leg this weekend, then decided to NOT release the dumbbell for 2 days! He would hold that dumbbell in a deathgrip (only terriers have that grip!) and the owner would have to do 2 or 3 exercises before he would give it up to her!!
Incredible story of the weekend....the woman with no arms who went High in Trial 2 days, and High combined as well on Saturday. She has a fantastic red Doberman bitch and they are a wonderful team. I have a picture of her winning her Utility class. I am amazed at her skill doing signals to the dog with her feet, throwing the dumbbell with her left foot, etc. It was a fantastic sight to behold this weekend.

| | Alpha | Congrats on the CDX legs. My late River got 2 but no more before he died. I would have loved to have that CDX after his name. You'll have it soon, I'll bet.
The handler with no arms is Donna Rock. Her dog, Annie, also has a MACH! They are an inspiration to us all. |

| I thought her name was Donna, but didn't want to post a wrong name. She is just fantastic to watch. The show had her give a demo after Best in Show on Saturday in the big ring ...that was the day she won both high combined and high in trial. She and her dog are a terrific team. |

She is amazing. I have seen her run her dog in agility, but I have not seen her do obedience. I bet it was fantastic to watch.

| Scores were not his best, but by now I don't care! He has NQ'd four 194-195 runs for me, the bad boy! Anyway, his score Sat was a 190 and today a 181(only 4 qualifiers today!). I gave him a second heel command for a 5 point deduction during the figure eight today. The winning score today was 195 1/2 and was a classmate with her great Min Poodle. She titled her for CDX this weekend with one HIT and one other class first.
Rexy actually has an awesome drop on recall...perfect drop....when he will actually touch all the way down. He either comes in at a very brisk trot or a gallop. If galloping, the judge better give me the signal about 3 strides into the line or he will be on top of me before you know it! After he drops, his tail wags a million times on the second half of his recall. He is so happy he did it right.
His heeling was not as good as usual and his figure 8's were terrible this weekend. That was very puzzling because figure 8 has been his favorite exercise from CD on up. Anyway, he flies over the high jump and his nubbin wags on the way back in, and broad jump is just fine. His finishes are sometimes crooked with the pressure of showing. I just have to keep working on precision before the next attempt.
It was really fun to be at a 4 day show with about 8-10 people who all train with my instructor, some who are in my weekly lessons, and some overlap from week to week. We all rooted for each other and clapped for great performances, commiserated with NQ's. There was a huge Arabian show on the horse grounds as well, so we went over and watched for about 3 hrs last night before putting the dogs to bed for the night.
If anyone considers Perry, GA for obedience the May show is 1/2 the size of the April cluster, and the obedience building is air conditioned in May (not April). Easier to park etc in May, but I do enjoy watching the flyball and agility trials at the April event. The horse park is so huge you can drive way back down a gravel road and I take mine off lead one at a time and throw the ball etc for them every afternoon. My friends swam their dogs in the 2 ponds there every day, but Rexy's allergies are killing him this week. I am tired, but it was a fun time.
**Yesterday he got a $3 hot dog from the vendor, a new collar and leash, and today some baked goods!
