| Suffering from loss of Chester kitty Hi all: My sweet Chester, an 18 yo Exotic Shorthair Persian, passed over the bridge this evening as we made the most difficult decision to let him go. He was the best cat I ever had, helped me through some of the most challenging sad times of my life when I lost my dad and 1st doberkid, Diva. He whipped Phoebe into shape in about 4 months. With one claw swipe to Phoebe's nose drawing bright red drops, Chester gained the respect of Phoebe who learned not to shove her snout at his behind and run around him instead of at him or over him. Chester had also trained my Diva back in the day. He was a proud kitty until the end. Unfortunately the chronic renal failure he had suffered from for the last 2 1/2 years got the best of him. We thought that a few days of good care in a vet ICU would get him back to snuff but despite our best efforts and his, it became clear he was too sick and tired to keep the fight going. He was so good to us for so many years, it was out turn to be good to him and give him peace. He is with our Diva now in heaven. n |
