| My Remy at 9 weeks :) Hi Guys,
A while back i introduced myself asking for some advice about our dobe that we would be buying from france he had not been born at the time but we found a breeder we liked and since then he has been born, we have picked him and is 9 weeks old.
We will have to wait another 2 months for him to have all his jabs and microchipping as he is in france but i thought i would share a few picture of him. We picked him at 4 weeks old and he was so lovley and calm. ( I am sure he won't be so chilled when we pick him up! lol )
He is 6 & 8 Weeks old in the pictures. He is a real chunky boy and I can not wait to get him home, he will be just over 4 months when we pick him up. How much did your Dobe weigh at 4 months and if you guys could post a few pics if you have any that would be great.
If you guys have any tips that would be great we are going to get a little cloth that he has been sleeping on out there to bring back with him to make the transiation easier for him and me and my gf are taking 2 weeks off work to help him settle in. |

| Richter came home at four months old. He was just about 36 pounds, I think. Here's a photo from a few days after we got home:

| Handsome puppy!
I don't remember what Elka weighed at 16 weeks. She was 16 pounds at 12 weeks, and (I think) gained two pounds a week for awhile. Still rather small, comparatively! |

Chloe is 4 months, and around 40 pounds, so right around the same size, so was curious if Richter was older and how his size is progressing. |

| Thanks guys, he is from a russian bloodline so i think his expected to be a bit heavier at full size her boys are around 90lb-110lb at full weight.
Richter is lovely, he is going in for his crop in a few days so the next pic he will have his ears up in bandages like Richter. We have gone for a medium crop, how long did you have to wrap him up for?
I am not sure how much he is weighing at the mo but i will ask next time i speak to the breader but he looks well feed |

| Post #12:
The amount of time in posts depends on a few factors, namely the length of the crop, and the stability of the cartilage in the dog's ears. For a long crop, be prepared to post from 6 months to sometimes 1 year. It all depends on the dog and the ears.
Have you posted cropped ears before? If not, I'd suggest looking at THIS posting tutorial by site member Zephyr. I'd also go ahead and get your posting supplies ahead of time, so you don't need to scramble once Mr. Handsome arrives!
Congrats!

Congrats! | Thanks for that it looks really helpful.
I haven't posted cropped ears before but the breeder will be taking care of them for 9 weeks as he is going in tomorrow and we will be picking him up at the end of April. She gave me a run through of everything and when we pick him she said she will show me exactly how to post his ears. I have done some research on it but I wanted to speak to people here who have had a lot of experience rather than reading it from a book.
Next week we are going shopping for him so I will get those on my list no doubt.
Thanks again |

| Just spoke to the breeder and he is weighing 14kg (30lbs) at 10 and a half weeks. Is that about average for 10/11 weeks? |

| Wow, you're not kidding, he's a big boy!
Murphy was tiiiiny tiny tiny as a pup. I think he was about 16 pounds at 12 weeks and around 25 at 16 weeks. A couple weeks ago he weighed in at 64 pounds so I think we're going to hit it pretty close to normal. Some dogs grow faster, some grow slower. |

| I'm just wondering where the breeder taking him to be cropped? According to this chart, it's illegal in France. Dobermann Review - Info Library - Cropping and docking

| He's a handsome boy. Hope you don't get lots of flack about his ears from everyone you see. Does he have to get all of his vaccines before you can bring him into the country? |
