| Why did you choose a dobi & what is the funniest thing your pup has done! After so much research. I picked the breed because they are smart, fun, loving, and easy grooming! I needed a good working dog with lots of energy! Now the funniest thing my pup has done so far is...well for starters he has plenty of toys.) So i had company over for dinner,We are at the dinner table eating and chivas decided to go to the laundry basket and grab my red bra to play with and dragged it across the kitchen displaying it to everyone!! And as I go to grab he takes off running. Seems like a fun game to him until finally catching him and playing tug a war to get it back. Always an adventures time at my house!! |

| My old pup did that one, but with the tampon box.. Except we had company over. Needless to say, there was no entertainment that night that topped the puppy strutting with a box of tampons in his mouth.. He was so proud too...

| Why did I pick a doberman?
I have a friend who was involved in doberman rescue and my husband fell in love with her male dog.
The black and tan looked like the dachshund that he loved and I swore after her death that there would be no more dachshunds.
What is the funniest thing she's done?
We got the brat at about 6 months oldish.... So she proceeded to get stuck under our bed at about 9 months I woke up to little whiny noises, not freaking out, just those little whiny hey when you have a minute noises. I literally had to grab her back feet which were just barely in reach and pull her out. I thought for sure she'd freak out. She didn't. The only way we could figure out that she got that far under the bed was to sorta lay on her side and "swim"/"wiggle" on her back because there wasn't enough room to crawl under there. |

| It's funny how they can get under the bed but have hard time getting out. That's funny!! Can't wait till my is bigger. I don't like him under the bed cause he acts like a cat and attacks your feet ! |

| Sometimes I think I got a cat in a dogs body. Little pop decided to go to the bathrooms and shred the toilet paper. And found it to be so much fun he started to drag in through the house!!!! Can't take my eyes off of him for 1min. |

| My hubby wanted a dobe because his childhood friend had 2 and he loved them. I did not want a dog at all let alone a dobe because I was afraid of them. Long story short Coco totally became my dog and I love her like one of my kids!
Coco is a big girl but she thinks she is still small and not 85 pounds. She likes to sit on your lap when you sit on the couch. Her back feet are still on the ground.
We have a glass topped square coffee table and she loves to lay under it and go to sleep. She looks up at you through the glass. I call it the "dober in the box". She then has to belly crawl out from under the table. The first time she did it she couldn't get herself out and I had to pick up the table and move it! She has since mastered getting out!

I feel like Jasmine (my dobe) has so many feline like mannerisms. Sometimes I wonder if her two cat sisters are rubbing off on her?!? |

| Although I've always wanted a Doberman and been in awe of the breed, I didn't choose a Doberman, the Doberman chose me! I went to a local humane society to rescue a dog, expecting to get a pitt mix probably. Jasmine (her name was Kona, but I changed it after rescuing her...fresh start and all) was alllllll the way in the back. When I saw her she got really excited and started jumping up and down. I went up to her and she started licking me like crazy through the gate. It was one of those moments when you just know. Well, it was a done a deal!
Here's a before and after, WARNING, first pic is sad...
Jasmine then...

Jasmine now!!

She sleeps like a human with her blankie (yeah, she's a bit spoiled, but I think all of the pet owners on here can relate lol)

I could write a lot about how much I love Dobermans, but to sum it up.... having Jasmine and learning more about Dobermans has only solidified that this is the breed for me!
Everything Jasmine does is silly lol! One night she was laying next to me on her back looking at me, like "come on mom, lets play!" I took her paws and started moving them like she was peddling a bicycle. It was so funny, her eyes got so big and she opened her mouth and just laid there. Her face looked like, "Oh wow!! yeahhhh!!" Whenever I'd stop, she stretch her big doberfeet out and put her paws right in my face until I did it again lol

I've had Jasmine about 3 1/2 months, so it'll probably be a little bit of time before I do. I had boxer/rot/pitt before her who lived to be 21, but I want to get more experience training with Jasmine first before I bring another doberman into the home lol! |

| My ex husband got our dobe in the divorce a few years ago and since my sweet Bo a pitbull got stolen I decided to get another dobe. Niko is 10 weeks old and he "talks" to his food lol I swear he sounds like he's howling quietly with "Nom Nom Nom" thrown in. Its hilarious :-) he's a smart boy too he mastered sit in 15 mins and now he automatically sits before given his food without me having ti ask him anymore . His original name I gave him was Tango.....apparently he didn't like it he wouldn't even look at me if I called him lol so I started the search again and started randomly calling names. He picked Nikolai lol I said it and he looked at me did the head tilt and barked. Guess he liked it lol he's Niko (nee-ko) for short
Photo is Niko at 8 weeks |

| We came to have Mila by a complete fluke actually... Back in November, I traveled to Redding CA with a friend to pick up a part for her car and to get mani-pedi's. The man selling the part at his auto shop had a beautiful red adult male Dobie at his side, and me being an animal lover, I went right over to see him. The three of us got to talking and the owner mentioned he also bred Dobermans and that this particular male was the sire of his latest litter, but that he was importing a new male from Serbia in order to improve his lines, and he was now considering re-homing this guy. I was in love with the boy (his name is Deuce) but knew I would have to talk it over with my SO. I was optimistic because I knew the boss-man has adored Dobies all of his life but had just never gotten the opportunity to own one. A couple weeks of discussion passed by, then we made the decision to call the breeder and inquire if Deuce still needed a home. Arrangements were made to come and pick him up, but for some hazy reason the breeder decided to give him to a family member instead. He felt awful and wanted to assure us that he hadn't been trying to jerk us around about Deuce, and offered us a puppy of our choice from his final litter for free. Neither myself or my SO had wanted a puppy initially but decided to at least make the drive to Redding to come have a look at them. After getting to know the kennel and the dam better, we both knew we would be very satisfied if our pup turned out to be anything like its parents-- beautiful, solid, healthy, amazing temperaments. So we made our pick (a female; SO's family hunts and all of their dogs are male), waited four more weeks and purchased everything under the sun for the new baby (as well as doing countless hours of research lurking websites like DT ) and the rest is history! She is now curled up asleep in my lap at 10.5 weeks old, growing more and more gorgeous every day and with quite an endearing personality.

| I fell in love with the Dobes I encountered over the years at my jobs in the pet care industry. I never really paid much attention to them prior but once I started volunteering in Dobe rescue I became hooked on the breed, and now I have a portrait of my Doberman tattooed on me!
Prime does a lot of silly things but one I will never forget is his full tactical sideways hop over his Newfoundland friend when they were playing. |

| Dobermanns just appeal to me, the way siamese cats do. I've grown up with other dogs, other cats, but my heart is pulled to these personalities and looks. We got our first dobe almost 30 years ago...holy cow, that makes me feel old to say that Diezel is my first foray into working dobes. I'm excited...although this morning I think he's got more mischief that a room full of toddlers......chase the chickens.....chase the ducks....chase the cat.....try to eat the furniture, the newly folded clothes, the lab, the carpet....holy cow! And that was all in the first 90 minutes of my morning. He's totally crashed in his crate, asleep, while I get ready for the day. We're headed out for a walk to avoid a repeat....
As for funniest.... Diezel wakes me up by a yawning very loudly. I get up, open the crate and he proceeds to take about 5 minutes to stretch and spooge his way out of the crate, over the carpet and fiiiiiiiinnnnnaaaalllly stumbles into a standing position. Silly dog, I coulda been sleeping for those 5 minutes! He's done this every morning since I brought him home. |
