| I'm confused. My breeder taped his ears for me yesterday. And so I didn't get a real good look at the tape. She said it was curity standard porous tape.. But how does the tape stick to the foam part and sticky side is outward sticking to the ear. That's why I assumed it was double sided. She is out of town so that's why I figure ill ask in the forum. |

| you back tape, the sticky side is out and the non is what is wrapped around the post.
Does that make sense?
ETA:
It looks like this, where you tape once around at the end, then turn the tape over and wrap it around sticky side out

| You don't necessarily NEED J&J Zonas tape to post. I used tape I purchased at CVS or Walgreens.
Although I agree that the zonas is THE BEST, it is expensive and you will go through A LOT of it!!!
I just used a store brand medical/paper tape. Worked fine and it was POROUS

| I just got my zonas tape today and its thin and breathable. But it's not very sticky. It doesn't grab and hold like the tape the breeder used. . I hate ordering and waiting for things lol.... But seems the tape I find doesn't last long cause not sticky enough to hold ESP when puppy scratches his ears |

| I bought a 12 roll case of Zonas on Amazon for $18.xx. You can also use the Coach Sports Tape, which can generally be found at Walgreens or Rite Aid. It is $2-$3 per roll.

| I ordered Zonas tape through ebay, paid $3.39 per roll with free shipping. However, I also use Johnson and Johnson Coach breathable sports tape - you can buy it at Walmart at $2.29 I believe, per roll.
When it comes to stickiness, my tape ( both kinds actually ) seem hardly sticky at first. But, after a couple of minutes, the tape ( at least in my case ) seem to adhere really well to the ear. |

I also use Leukotape to help secure my bridge which I use. Very strong and cost about $8 per roll.

| I got a 12-pack of Zonas on Amazon for about $18 as well. But I'm here to sing the praises of Torbot Skin Tac again for keeping posts in the ears...if your having trouble with your pup popping them out, I'd highly recommend it! |

3M Wrap- i ordered the 3 inch 3M Coban Self Adherent Wraps
Get your self goo gone to remove tape.

| What's the 3 m wrap for. I been using the tape in reverse for the post. And then tape the post around the ears. I new at this. Lol and to remove it I use peroxide and alcohol mix. To get glue off works great. Soak it in a warm cloth. Falls off pretty good. |

| Ear cropping supplies Some people use this type of tape to add flare to their dog's ear posting so they aren't looking at the tape all the time. They come in a variety of colors.

Falls off pretty good. | I use the Vet wrap/3M wrap just for color at times, instead of tape all the time. It's also described in the ear posting tutorial; that's where I learned to do it. I've attached a couple pictures of different colors (we have red, pink, purple, black). But if you use the wrap, be very careful and wrap it lightly, DO NOT STRETCH it, and then gently squeeze to ear. It will hold. If you stretch it, it can constrict and cut off circulation. |

| So you still put tape on post to make it sticky. Then the wrap around the earto hold it ? I don't like the tape. I'm afraid since it keep yanking the hair out its going to make it raw and not grow back. |

| yes, the post needs to be sticky to stay in the ear. soak the ends of Q-tips with solvent and gently rub them between the ear and the post. it'll make removal go a lot easier and you won't rip out the hair. |

I'm afraid since it keep yanking the hair out its going to make it raw and not grow back. | If I use the vet wrap, I only put a loose piece of tape around the base, and loose piece of tape around the tip, then the vet wrap, so no middle piece of tape is needed. I've also put baby powder on her hair on the outside and with changing every 4-5 days, very little hair comes out. And using that insolvent can help too. I have it, but haven't had a need yet. I use the Zonas tape, and some days, I've even used paper tape, under the wrap.
