| It's that time of night As I've mentioned before I am not new to Dobes per se. My grandfather showed them when I was growing up, and we had some when I was younger, so I've been around many of them. Bruce is however the first Dobe I've owned myself. I am pretty familiar with the breed, yet it never ceases to amaze me just how unlike other breeds they are.
Bruce is so "human" in some ways. This time of night he reminds me of exactly how my kids get when they're ready for bed. First he will get insanely hyper (zoomies up and down the hallway). This is my cue that he is ready for bed...once he's done and gone out for his last bathroom break in his crate he goes. From here he gets into cranky, overtired child mode lol. He bites his blankie, and grumbles and growls at it until he falls asleep lol (if it doesn't do what he wants it to, he will bark at it). Every night it makes me laugh, because it's so much like how my kids get...hyper, then cranky, then crashed for the night.
Here's a pic of him taken just a few minutes before bedtime zoomies started (this is his "I'm about to get crazy" face). His ears are not finished by the way, I had just taken them down to clean and repost.

| Wait until he gets to 90lbs and still doing the nighty nighty zoomies.
The noises, after I tuck Bacchus in, are hysterical.
Gotta love them! |

| Last night we were having cuddle time on our bed early in the evening (my kids have been sick for a few days so I'm exhausted). Bruce didn't sleep there, he went to his crate after zoomies but we watched a movie there before bedtime. Anyway, he was trying to get comfy at the very head of our bed. The pillow he was chilling on kept slipping down between the mattress, and headboard and every time it did he would growl and bark at it lol.
I love how vocal, and full of personality this breed is And zoomies never fail to make me laugh. My last boy (a chocolate lab) used to do some wild ones, and it was hilarious to watch him...even full grown and using my bed as leverage to get some REALLY fast zoomies going (hopefully Bruce doesn't learn that trick ).

| Rou doesn't get the zoomies too frequently. He had them last night and a tad this morning (I feel because of the snow), but normally, he isn't a zoomies guy.
He just walks into his crate and settles for the night.
I feel like I am missing something now

| | Alpha | Calamity was too much of a princess to go out in the rain, but was even more of a princess, thankfully, to go inside. I would put a leash on her and practically drag her out, hold an umbrella over her, even put a rain coat on her. Although we would then be outside longer and get wetter than if she would have just went at the beginning she still wouldn't do her business.
Finally, I would just leave the door open and she would bolt outside, do her thing, and then dart inside spinning in circles, jumping off the furniture, and throwing toys in the air. You would think she just made the winning Super Bowl touchdown.
Now she does it every time she poops - the life of a dog. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

| Most of my dogs have been this way, not just my Dobes. But I do think vizslas and Dobes are more similar than people realize (until the bad guy comes hehe). But puppy zoomies I think are relatively normal for most breeds and very fun to watch

| Oh my gosh, SO CUTE. Bruce has the best look on his face in that picture...you just know something crazy is going to happen! Puppy zoomies are frustrating sometimes, but mostly they're just too funny not to enjoy. |

| can definitely see that about to go nuts look! Caes has it when he get IN from a walk, he gets in the door and boom he is off for 10 mins of up and down! You would expect him to lay down and be a bit knackered (usually out with a few other dogs) but not Caes, he has MORE energy when he gets in than when he is out lol |

It's like it energizes her. Huckleberry is the opposite, what I would like to call "normal" lol, he chills and passes out. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

Something about their personality in general is just different than other puppies I've worked with (many different breeds). He is much more "human like" than most breeds I've worked with, if that makes sense. I have very limited experience with Vizslas though, aside from a few clients with them. I can say that I've always liked them, they're beautiful dogs (and I always enjoy updates on your dogs ). Quote:

Funny but interesting. Quote:

For the first 5-10 mins after a walk or outdoor playtime etc (anything that should tire him out), he is extra wild when we come in. For him I find that when he is overtired he gets even more wound up, and prone to zoomies, and being VERY mouthy and vocal |
