| Our Christmas "Helper"--Pictures Brinks must be excited for her first Christmas because she's made sure she's right underfoot "helping" with all our Christmas prep! First, she likes to "help" by keeping an eye on the Christmas tree. She drinks all the water out of its base because she must think the tree isn't thirsty. She drags the tree skirt to another room because she must think the tree is too warm. And she carried all the ornaments to different rooms of the house because apparently she doesn't think there should be any ornaments on the bottom 3 feet of the tree!
She went through a box of toys that we bought to donate to local kids and pulled out all the stuffed ones and removed the eyes and tags from each. Of course, we're sure this was just to make sure no one would choke on them. (All "her" toys and parts quickly made it into the trash!)
"This toy was for me...right?"
She "helped" make Christmas cookies by taste testing everything she could get her little paws on anytime anyone had their backs turned!
"No, no, I didn't steal any cookies....what makes you think that?"
And finally after all that hard work, she had to take a nap!
"Mom, enough pictures! I need some beauty rest!"
NOT. SPOILED. AT. ALL! |

| Isn't she sweet to take care of those nasty eyes on the toys. And what a big help in the kitchen. Your so lucky. By the way does she do any cleaning? If she does, I'm sure she'd like our weather here. I won't work her too hard.

| We're at my grandparents' for our annual Christmas jaunt, and Elka is super perplexed by the tree. She goes and touches it every once in awhile (just a branch tip, not ornaments) as if to say "How droll, a tree indoors?" Of course, they also have house plants, which we do not, and she looks at them too.
She also stuck her head fully inside the bag I brought with presents in it |

She barks and play bows to the vacuum. And she tries to eat the steam from the Shark steam mop!
I'm sure she'd love your weather as well! We got our first snow a few days ago and I had to lure her outside. She quickly ran back to the door with a look that said "Mom!!! What the heck is this?!?!" Now that she's discovered she can eat the snow, she seems a little happier and she patiently waits for me to bundle her up to send her outside! |

| Wow, she's a beauty.
So thoughtful and helpful. Love the flour on her nose.
Once, when Garth was a pup, 1998, he ate an entire bag of homemade banana bran muffins. turned my head for a sec, gone. I pulled up his lip to check, and the evidence was stuck all over his gums.
Those Dobermans are always a handful. Keep us on our toes. |

| It's always so great to have a helper! I have 5.... 4 dogs and my daughter. Some days I have to practice patience. LOL Happy holidays.
I read somewhere to be careful about animals drinking the tree water as it can be toxic. Not sure where I read it or if it's true but I thought Id mention it. |

Brinks is not supposed to to drink the tree water...but of course she wasn't supposed to to chew up the toys to be donated or eat the Christmas cookies either but that didn't stop her!
I ended up on the phone with the ER vet the first night the tree was in the house because she ate several needles. They said it would be ok, it just might make her tummy upset. We will try to keep her away from the water more now, though! It's not like she doesn't have a full bowl of fresh water 10 feet away from the tree. It's so much more fun to have to army crawl under the tree to steal the tree water, though! |
