I was wondering how big other pups are my red female Ruby is 6 months and weighs in at 50-55 lbs she stands 24 inches tall at her withers and is 22 inches long from her neck to tail. How big is your pup? Is my girl gonna be BIG? I'm thinking that she will be.

You usually can get a pretty good guess if you look at her parent's for size. Brandy is a year and two months, and is around 63 ish pounds the last time I weighed her.

Ruby's mom weighs 60-65lbs and her dad is about 75-80ish lbs. they were both good size dogs as far as height also. But since she's already 6 months old and 50-55lbs just curious how much bigger she will get......

It really depends on her lines. Some lines mature more slowly but some get most of their substance early on. Your breeder would be the best person to ask that question if they know their lines well.

Caesar weighted 19.8kg (43-44lb) 10 days ago and just measured him at 23"

A good estimate apparently is what the dog weights at around 5 months should double (give or take), i dont know if this is true but i have read it and if you go by that then Caes should come in around 85-90lb which is about right

Shes going to be on the top end of female size if you go by that, obviously as said it depends on lines and parents, she might not grow so quickly over the next 12 months as she has so far

Brinks was 6 months old on the 6th and she weighed 47 lbs and stood 24 inches at the shoulder, approximately. Standing still for us to get a good measurement of her apparently wasn't on her list of things to do that day!

Lycan is 28 inches at the withers and 90 pounds. 7 months old. I'm assuming hes almost done growing, just going to fill out. He is a purebred and has begun his showing career and doing quite well.


Hope the doubling from 5 months is wrong because he was about 70 pounds then. Lol.

Murphy will be 7 months tomorrow and he weight in on Saturday at 51ish.

My Dobergirl Bella will be 5 months the day after tomorrow, and weighed in 2 days ago at 47.4 lbs and 21.5" at the shoulder.

I sure hope the previous poster is wrong about weights doubling between 5 months and full-grown bc a 95 lb. female would be rather large, lol!

lol i dont know if it actually is or not but i have read it before, its an estimate of course, they say its about 10lb a month though in that thread Amelia posted 4 months = 40lb 5 months = 50lb etc but even that is give or take 10lb

70lb at 5 months sounds rather large lol is there no upper weight limit in the show standard??? id have thought anything over 100lb would be over 28" isnt that too tall (in terms of scoring)? (dont know a great deal about showing)

The more weights people post up the less accurate it sounds! its probably not correct, theres clearly plenty of ~50-60lb 5 month old dobies about!

Hi guys.

As far as Lycans size goes, I have been assured that his lines mature quickly. His pedigree is mostly south American. His maternal grand-sire is Charlestons Yankee and Paternal grand sire is Tyson de lex luthor and paternal great grand sire is Apollo de lex luthor who was a very big boy.

He will be 8 months this week. We showed him here in Canada in a sanction match at 5 months and he took the working group. We showed him last month and he won best dog and best of winners. My point in including that info is to assure everyone he is purebred and not some monstrosity.

I'm sure he is near finished in height and most of his weight but he will get heavier as he does not have the muscling he will have at maturity yet.

I hope the uploading of his photo works . It was taken last week.

Our vet told us that in most dogs she has seen, they are at half their adult weight when their baby canine teeth fall out. Brinks' fell out at 41 and 44 lbs. That would put her between 82-88 lbs if that holds true for her. Her dad weighed about 90lbs and her mom about 80lbs so that would make sense. We'll see what happens!

The standard here in canada says males between 26-28 inches at withers. 27 1/2 is ideal. The deviation from the standard is to be penalized accordingly. So right now he is at the upper edge of the standard. If he goes over it should be penalized depending on how much taller he is than the standards. In all honesty he would have to be like 30 inches or higher for the judges to really take notice, and there have been many males who actually have been in the ring at 30 inches. Not so much lately but years ago. The main thing is for the dog to be balanced.

Fingers crossed his height is almost done.
