| Growing Pains? The last few days Rouleaux has been picking at his food (especially in the morning) and seeming pretty off. He is happy and playful, but is resting more frequently and not pulling his toys out of his toybox like normal.
He isn't lethargic, just seems punky.
He was limping a bit on his hind leg and his back seems slightly hunched when he stops walking. Otherwise he is fine. No vomiting, diarrhea, and when I palpated his abdomen he wasn't objecting to it/whimpering, etc.
He hasn't eaten anything new, and to my knowledge has not eaten anything abnormal... I have been through that already!
He was eager to greet me when I got home and ran right to the door to go out- completely normal.
He would much rather be curled up in his crate.
My boyfriend let him out this afternoon and didn't notice anything different.
Could it be growing pains??

| Well, he is the age where panosteitis might strike.... It can be a shifting leg lameness.
Don't you work for a vet clinic? If worried, I'd run him in to work and keep an eye on him for the next 24 hours. |

| Yes I do and I'm not worried I was just wondering.
Pano did cross my mind after the initial post, and I just got back from the store with some vit c tabs to start him out on.
Thank you for your response. Every now and then it is good to get a second opinion
That is what this site is best for!

| Mariano has been the same way for the last week... you have seen him, still playing and what not...
I think its a growth spurt because I can basically watch him getting bigger as I type lol.

| Your boy is getting HUGE!
I knew the day was coming... I should have prepared better.
He will be fine!
It looks like his back is longer, and his legs don't fit the proportions too well...
I wonder how long Rou will be keeping up with Mariano in the growth department until he is finally surpassed... or not. but probably so.
This is going to be an interesting study.

| When Flirt had pano, the only symptom she had was limping and it would rotate from rear leg to rear leg. But everything else was normal for her. Some dogs get it worse, much worse. I'd just keep an eye on it.
