| That is a total nightmare, I'm so sorry Hopefully either your breeder or your vet can take him, but a rescue is definitely better than your shelter as you describe it. |

| Are you a Veteran by any chance? Or a child of a Veteran? Are you a female? If you are, there are VA (Veterans Affairs) agencies in every state who can offer short-term housing to Vets, and homeless female Vets are a priority. They may let you bring your dogs.

im sure you have a grace period to move

| | Alpha | hi you are 7 hours from me. You need to buy some time somehow, I don't know If the person i have in mind has anymore room. She is a friend of mine and has dobermans but I know she has her hands full right now. She has dog sat for me and is a very nice lady, but I don't know if can take on anymore. If I didn't have my daughter's dog I would take him in a minute. I will make a few calls tomorrow but I suggest the motel idea. Some of the more cheaper places will have monthly rates too. Your dog/s will be alot more happy with you than being sent elsewhere.
also is there any doggie day care around? maybe you can plead with them to take them til you get paid..
is your dog pet friendly? housebroken? |

I'm not saying this to lecture you, not at all, just more as validating--because when we take responsibility for an animal, we are committing to keeping them safe and sound, to the very best of our ability.

Skipping over many details, but suffice it to say-although I certainly had a RIGHT to keep renting the upstairs half of that building, the reality was, it was neither safe nor pleasant in any way to continue trying to live there.
So, not knowing how tense things are between OP and homeowner, er, maybe beating a hasty retreat is best.
I guess I worry tensions and temper might get taken out on the innocent animals--some humans do that kind of crap.
RP, do you think it's feasible to sit down with roommate, ask for a given time frame, say ten days, in return for XX amount of money, and a promise to vacate?
Perhaps if you stress that you are concerned about the dogs, and are working hard to make arrangements for them, the roommate will reconsider.
I hope you have followed thru in the past, with verbal agreements--that will give you more credibility and make it more likely you can negotiate a more graceful exit. Quote:

I hope you have followed thru in the past, with verbal agreements--that will give you more credibility and make it more likely you can negotiate a more graceful exit. | At this point in time, my roommate will not even speak with me to my face. she has resorted to texting me while sitting in the other room. I am not one for confrontation so I have left it alone at this point not wanting to fuel the fire. I have pretty much begged her for just a few days or at least til friday when I get paid. There is a kennel in town and I am friends with the lady, she will let me keep them there for a little while as long as I provide food, which isn't an issue.
I've never really had any problems before which is why I am confused to why this all transpired the way it did. I guess things have been getting worse over time, unbenounced to me and today was the straw the broke the camels back so to speak when a small grease fire happened in the kitch on my watch. (which scared the crap outta me so I totally understand why she was pissed) Nothing was burned or damaged (except for the pan on the stove) the ceiling in the kitchen has soot all on it but can be cleaned (which I started doing after I put the fire out) I panicked and threw water on the fire instead of taking a second to think and throw flour instead, stupid but I panicked. When she got home I had the dogs outside, all windows and doors open and the fans blowing. She was extremely pissed, about an hour later she texted me telling me I needed to leave with the dogs. She didn't really explain too much but I knew. Apart from the smoke inhalation I got from trying to put out the fire nothing was damaged and everyone was safe. But I understand why it made her mad, although, I'm still not certian how the fire started.
I am trying right now to get everything packed up and am hoping to be out of here before she gets home from work so as to avoid any conflict.

| I think your roommate needs to get off the rag and give you time to make proper arrangements. She might have a reason to be mad, but she has no reason to be a total bitch.

| Please contact the tenant/landlord number. The one in CA is extremely helpful and you may have some type of rights depending on how long you've been there even if you are not on the agreement.

Yes, keep it in your back pocket. That way it doesn't have to go far to bite you in the ass.
Buying alot of it? I have no doubt and all on the backs of those poor dobes you breed into the ground. Going to have to sell plenty of those pups in the walmart parking lot. |

anyway, to the OP I am so sorry, but my friend is full she expressed sorrow and wishes to you. I hope you found an alternative to your situation, wish you were closer I would somehow make it work. I just don't think I can handle another dog, dealing with mine and her wobblers I have had to change conditions for her so she can get around easier. Gosh, I feel so bad for not being able to help a friend in need. Please keep me informed!! |

| I dont breed animals but whatever you think that floats your boat. Lets not make this thread about me which people like doing. Make it about rally. How he lied about calling and now he has no place to live. I believe in karma and karma came around. Dont worry im not staying i just came back to check my thread once more. I do have a life and have to take care of my animals and family. dont need to sit around all day like im in court with the judge and jury convincing people of what i say. Anyways GL rally next time remember to be honest and nice and good things will come your way |
