| New Pic of ears-6 weeks of posting so far. How are we looking so far? I left them down for about an hour today when I was reposting. They are a little shorter than I wanted and people say he has way too much bell, but they are looking good so far and they are even at the tips now after they finished healing. I was afraid they would be uneven cause of a big scabby chunk that fell off when they were dry but the tips look exactly the same now.
Also, I have tried the "bumpers" but I am not quite sure exactly where they are supposed to be placed and for what purposes I need to use them for. any explanation would help. And he has started teething and I hear that you should give them things to chew on right after you tape and before bed cause chewing helps strengthen the muscles on the side of his head. Is this right?

| His ears are standing very nicely!
I really don't think it's a bad crop at all; it has very clean edges. He's a pet, so if you like his ears that's really all that matters. It may not be the same style as others prefer but to each their own.
He's a super cute boy. I *love* the little sleepy face/nose pic. I just want to kiss his little nose and cuddle him. What a sweetie!

| You don't appear to have a "pocket" problem so ditch the bumpers. I think they're a nice length and the width won't be as noticeable when his head grows a little more. Overall, you got lucky. It could have been much worse. |

| super cute.
hes going to grow more so the extra bell might not even make it that bad
as for the bumpers as long as your using the Becker rod method what i do is
cut about and inch and a bit of Becker rod cut it in half
use one halve and attach it on to the post about one inch from the bottom then apply the duct tape/reverse tape.
when you put the post in what i do is make sure the inch bumper is not facing the outside so its towards the skull get the post in as deep as u can stretch the ears and mold around the post.
he dosent look like he has pockets but its always good to put them in anyways i dont see it doing any harm
hope that helps
good luck

There should be a small portion of ear at the front (uncut) edge starting at the base that folds back a bit. I'm not sure, but it looks like you may be unfolding that and wrapping it around the post. It should be allowed to stay folded back flat against the ear. There are different reasons for this, and some suggest it adds to the strength of the "finished" ear. If I saw the photos wrong and you haven't unfolded this skin, my apologies |

But they always seem so flat after I untape them.
