| Destructive pup needs toy recommendations! My 6 month old puppy destroys every toy we give him. Every toy! I'd like something to play tug with, but the only things that have survived longer than a week is a kong and a nylabone plastic bone. I'd like some more fun things, and am willing to pay for expensive toys, but I have got to find something that will last! Thank you! |

I make my own tugs out of scrap fleece from fabric stores (always on sale) or cut up old jeans, or braid both together. You can also use your own rope or find contractors/cable companies/etc...that have old rope to "rehome"
orka jack (petco has this, its better than kongs imo)
chuck it tennis balls
Look for things with canvas and double stitching or in general sturdier fabric and stitching.
I also like jw's Cuz line, i got the bear though not the "people" no limbs to chew off

we have a Hurley and a Bumi and after a few months of CONSTANT abuse, neither toy shows any damage whatsoever. they're well worth the cost. |

| Planet dog toys are pretty awesome. I buy their rubber balls. If the dog destroys it, mail it back in and they send a replacement...lifetime guarantee. I've cashed in on two already. |

| When the toys don't last anymore... we stop giving free toys. The only ones we have out all the time are Kong toys. The rest are for playtime only. Playtime is when I physically go play with the dogs and then put the toy away.
To fill the time, we give chewies like bully sticks.
I just don't want to end up at the ER getting a toy removed from a belly. |
