| I use Sullivan's Hocus Pocus: Spray and Wash. It's designed specifically for use on animals (cattle) and is extremely gentle on the skin. It is basically just white mineral oil. I love it as it is an aerosol and I can spray it directly on the tape and everything peels right off.
ETA: Mineral oil is what is in practically all baby oils.

| | Alpha | I used baby oil too. I would actually put baby oil on a cotton swab, and swab the sticky side of the tape as I was removing it. It works great. Before I figured that out, I was removing ear fur with the tape. Baby oil works great! |

| I use Uni-Solve that's specially made for dissolving medical adhesive from tape, appliances, etc so it's safe for the skin. Bottle has a spout top and I just apply it directly to the tape. It basically just falls off, leaving all of the hair in tact! Bought it on Amazon. Couldn't rate it higher! |

You have some wonderful looking Dobes there. I'll keep the offer in mind and let you know how it's going. Poor little guy has had enough issues to deal with and I am hoping that we are in the clear now. |

| I had issues with it when I first brought Jaina home - then I got spray-on goo gone (in a spray bottle, like Windex would come into) and it's become a much more painless process for the both of us. That said, I really hate the way that stuff + the adhesive feels, so it's still Mom's least favorite part of the whole posting process.

| I've used different kinds of tape while posting, and I notice some kinds don't leave goo in his ear so badly, other kinds are AWFUL! Unfortunately, didn't really keep travk of the good stuff VS bad stuff VS stuff that doesn't hold, etc.. Right now I am using Johnson & Johnson tape from the vets, which seems better than the Johnson & Johnson tape I found at a medical store... not sure why they feel different. Supposedly the same exact thing. /shrug

| Same here. I had a breathable, very thin cloth tape that I used for emergencies with Jaina when I ran out of Zonas and had to wait on another order - with just the smallest amount of goo gone, it'd practically fall off on its own. Zonas tends to hug a bit tighter, but it's also a much more sturdy tape than the other tape.

| What kind of tape are you using? When we posted we used zonas and although he had tiny amounts of hair removed with it (the fine puppy hair), it really wasn't significant and there was no adhesive left over. |

| Detachol, as that is what my vet uses. I ordered it from diabetessuppliesforless.com. (No affiliation; that's just the only place I could find it.)
Although it implies alcohol content, and may well have some, it has some sort of emollient that is definitely not drying. Almost like a light baby oil.
