Ears!

Hess' ears are standing beautifully! The only question I have is if it is normal for one ear to be a bit floppy in the morning. After about 20 minutes of being awake, the ear stands straight. I'm just making sure I shouldn't still be wrapping his ears. He turned 8 months old yesterday. Thanks!

-Alex and Hess-

PS: I posted a thread the other day, asking if anyone has heard of Tahara Dobermans. If anyone has, any input on her dogs would be great!

I'd keep wrapping them, but I tend to be a bit over cautious.

I don't know about the floppy ear in the morning. When I stopped wrapping Fiddler's ears, they stood both in the morning and at night.

If they are even a tiny bit soft either continue to post or use the breathe right strips for a couple of more weeks...would be awful for that ear to flop after all your hard work for so many months. Don't worry....you won't have to post forever....I have pictures of Petey with his breathe right strips in until 10 months...I kept waiting for them to curl in again!

Sometimes if Red's been sleeping on one ear, it will be a bit droopy for a few minutes afterwards, but it always perks right back up. I was worried about this too and read somewhere on here that this happens to others as well.

Same here. Take a look at how he is sleeping. This is kinda common.

Thanks for all the input! After a few days of observing the ears, they are now back in the wraps for another solid month. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will need no more wrapping the next time around!

I find that taking ur pup out for walks more often helps keep those ears erect ! Especially when i take my Emjay out into the forest or park !

Make random sounds and noises that helps too ..
