What age do you stop the Puppy Chow

I have heard from Doberman owners that they stop the puppy chow at about 8 months of age. I currently have Quentin on Innova lg breed puppy chow but recently started mixing 50/50 with California Natural Lamb and Rice formula. I kinda of feel that it may be too early but this came from someone with the DPCA, but it was just one persons opinion. It seems my Vet does not specialize in Dobermans so I would like to hear from other Doberman owners if this is the correct thing to do (before it goes too far), and why or why not, it is the correct thing so I can do more research. I only want to do what is best for him.
Thanks in advance, Sheila

Some people never even feed puppy chow. I do, but that is just me. I stop at around 5-6 months.

Regular good quality adult food is fine for your puppy.

I would love some feedback on this question also. It's been 11 years since I had a puppy, and dog food has changed a lot since then.

Watching this also

I often think about puppy & kitten food and wonder what we fed them before the big companies came up with high priced special feed

I've never had a puppy on puppy kibble past 5 months of age or so. Razzle started eating Canidae all life stages when I got her at 14 weeks, and thrived on it.

I don't feed puppy food either. Canidae All Life Stages is what I have always fed Parker but I am rotating his food to Solid Gold Wolfking this week. He is six months old now.

Thanks a bunch guys. This is what I thought I would hear. I love this Forum and am so glad I found it. :-) I did post some pictures of my baby Quentin in the generic gallery. Is there anyway to put it on your profile.
Thanks, SRC
