| | Alpha | How old is your pup? This is why it is really important to socialize him/expose him to new sight/sounds/etc. I would not try to force the issue on him, but rather leave the container out and ignore it like it's no big deal - that it's not a threat to him. |

| Why not make it attractive so he will want to investigate it and learn it's no big deal? Put a few kibbles in it. Rub a bit of peanut butter around the lip. Then just leave it lying around. Make nothing of it. Leave him to investigate it on his own and let him learn that it's a positive experience. |

Try and turn it into a toy. |

| My two puppies saw an empty water bottle outside one day when we were exercising. The older male ran up to it and picked it up. The crunch it made scarred the wits out of him and he dropped it. My female who is 2 mo younger went over and checked it out, picked it up and ran with it. She ended up loving the stupid bottle more than any $$ toys. Sebastian soon learned that there was nothing to fear and started to play with them. They are now allmost 6 and 4mo and still love to crackle the plastic bottles better than anything. I would just leave it out and occasionally walk across it when out with your pup and show him it won't hurt him. Sounds as if he is a slight bit timid like my male. Socializing him has been very important for him to gain confidence. good luck |

| | Guest | When leroy was afarid of the rain and wouldnt use the bathroom i had to stand out in the rain and kneel down and call him to me, tell him "good boy" for coming out in it. eventually he was fine with it, now he will walk out in it like its not even raining. | |
