| 6 month old male... How big, on average, is a healthy, 6 month old male Dobe supposed to be? Mine is about 50-55lbs I'm guessing, and he just turned 6 months. He gets fed very well, gets lots of exercise, and is extremely healthy. The reason I am asking is because my last male was much larger at his age. My current Doberman is a bit "lanky." Any answers to my question would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

| Sounds Perfect size! He will grow at his own pace as long as you are feeding him a high quality kibble, home cooked or RAW. We use a rule of thumb give or take a few pounds. Some dogs go through crazy growth spurts...Petey had one month he gained 17 pounds!
2 months 20
3 months 30
4 months 40
5 months 50
6 months 60
So he is PERFECT! I had a Weim who was 28 inches tall and 68 pounds at 17 months old....he went to 85 to 90 pound with in a half a year and stayed that big until he got old! So what they are as puppies...does not mean much later....all lines grow at different rates.

| Dog's like Children grow at different rates "he'll be as big as he is" "how long's a piece of string" etc....etc....
I have kept a male puppy from my last litter both his parent's are standard size dog's he's just 8 month's old and he's as tall as his father and is/was about 4 week's ago 42 kilo's his Father is 45 kilo's how big is he going to be I don't know until he stop's growing. (see my posting on how quick they grow)
I'm sure yours is fine and the size HE should be for his age, bone weight also play's a big part in the weight of a puppy at any age some puppy's are heavier in the bone than other's which will make them seem heavier in body weigh.Just enjoy him regardless of his size if he's ment to be small he will be and if he's ment to be big he will be we all want our dog's to be a good standard size but you get what your given or in the case of a puppy paid for.

| From looking at the pic your pup looks like he is a healthy dog. It is really hard to gauge your pup against others as the lines play a large factor in what his size will be. If you are worried that he will be small I don't think that you are going to have a problem. He seems to be very appropriatley sized for his age. And I might add that he is also a very handsome boy.

| My Rudy was 60 pounds at 6 months. I don't know what he weighs now. He is 6 1/2 months. Try to feed him Canidea, Solid Gold or Innova dog food. Those are the "Cadillac" dog foods. I wouldn't worry too much, your boy sounds like he is pretty close to normal weight. I used to weigh Rudy at home. He is so big now, that is no longer possible.

| Knowing now that your guy is a Raw dog...he won't have an extra ounce on him eating Raw....he is perfect.
