Got My Puppy!!

I'm sooo excited!! (And soooooo tired!) Just returned from Nationals today. (We just went for the weekend.) Our breeder was waiting to make decisions about her puppies, and we weren't sure if we were going to get one from this litter. I was totally preparing myself to wait until the next breeding.. which would have been in spring. Well... we ended up getting our little girl! Just brought her home this evening. She's almost 10 weeks old and is ALL Dobie! Ran circles around us the first hour we were home. When it was time to go to bed, she just screamed and screamed from the crate. (It was almost 1 am on a Sunday night. We live in a townhouse, and I was freaking out about having the neighbors complain!) So, I think I'll stay up most the night and try to get some work done. Then when the neighbors head to work in the morning, we're going to work on our crate training. Will post some photos as soon as I can get caught up on work and sleep! Her nickname/call name is Risa. She's out of Ch. GoldGrove for Those with Instinct and Ch. GoldGrove Rave Review. I plan to do a little bit of everything with her! Some conformation, obedience, rally, etc. However, our FIRST step is to survive the next 24 hours without getting the neighbors irate! Already spent part of the evening chasing her from out behind the couch, distracting her so she'd stop chewing on the furniture, and trying to get her to slow down as she ran around the house.... Sorry so long, but you know what it's like when the new baby arrives! (Oh, and guess where the husband is while I’m trying to keep up with the little one? He’s in bed sleeping!)

I've always been interested in goldgrove, I hope to hear more about her as she grows up!

My 9 year old's sire was Ch GoldGrove Top Cop v Karrera (Zeus). I met Zeus before Fiddler (my 9 year old) was born. I just loved Zeus' looks and personality. Fiddler is SOOOOO smart and still acts like a puppy. Everybody who sees him says he doesn't look or act like a 9 year old. I really like the energy that he has. Plus, Zeus and some of his relatives have lived to be 11, 12, and 13 years old. Since I've been so happy with Fiddler, I decided that I wanted my second Dobe to be from the GoldGrove line. Risa is a Zeus granddaughter. Anyways, let's see how much I'm loving the GoldGrove energy when I'm going on a few days with no sleep!

Hope to post some photos later today. This is my first show puppy, so hopefully you'll hear lots of updates as she gets older!

Congrats.....PICTURES! The first days can be very hard....Petey lasted one night in the crate...freaked out all night long...so we brought him to bed with us....slept with us a few months and then flipped him onto his own bed...there he has stayed since...thankfully because he is HUGE! Enjoy! Lots of exersize all day today, she will be so exhausted that she will sleep like a baby tonight....or just bring her to be with you

Congrats. I've wondered about Goldgrove because they are so close to my house. It's great to know for if or when I decide to purchase. I'm excited to see pictures.
