My first dobergirl!!!!

Yep, I'll be getting my very first dobergirl next month. I'm extremely excited. Not only is this my first female doberman but it's my very first female dog period. I've had nothing but males my entire life.

Her parents are:

Sire - Ch. Ravenswoods Azure Sky - Blue
Dam - Pine Crest Pandemonium - Sydney

Who are owned by Mary Dependahl and Bill Pine respectively. Both of these dogs seem to have some nice pedigrees and Blue is absolutely stunning imho. The mother is vWD affected and Blue is clear so all the pups will be carriers.

Since they haven't picked my puppy for me yet I've just attached a bunch of random pictures. My girl will be one of these.

I AM!!! But since I don't live anywhere near the breeders Mary is going to ship her to me. I'd be a liar if I said that didn't make me really nervous. But I'm sure Mary knows what she's doing and from my research puppies are shipped all the time without incident.

Shipping usually causes no concern for pups, most just jump out of the crate and are ready to go when you pick them up!!!!
And yes, Mary does know what she is doing!

Congratulations! It's so hard to wait to find out who you're getting and then wait to pick up your puppy...I thought I'd go crazy waiting!! And of course we'll expect picture updates.

In case anyone is interested here is a picture of the father, Blue.

I don't have any pictures of the mother at the moment but I do have a picture of her grandmother, CH By Design Intuition attached.

How exciting, a new puppy! Congratulations, they all look lovely. Over the years, I've had four puppers flown to me and they've all done very well with the flight!

I am, however, open to suggestions.

She won't be officially named until I see her in person of course. And any names I pick have to go well with "Tucker" (my red boy). Personally, "Ava and Tucker" rolls off the tongue pretty well.

Question, as I can't recall how big my boy was when he was 10 weeks, but what size travel kennel do you guys think I should buy? I'm going to order it online and have it shipped directly to the breeders but I'm not sure what size to get.

UPDATE!! They picked my girl!! Here she is!!

Mary says she has a very very outgoing personality. I can't wait!! She flies in Friday, April 23. Right now I'm going with Ava for a call name but I can't make any final choices until I see her in person.

For those of you with trained eyes do you think she may have any possible conformation potential?

Congratulations!! How exciting! She is beautiful. And I love the name Ava.

Re- your question on crate size, I bought a Vari-Kennel 300 for the car when we first brought our pup home. Dimensions are 32 X 22.5 X 24. Although for flying I don't know if you would want something slightly smaller or not. Looks like the vari-kennel 200 is 28 X 20.5 X 21.5. There was a lot of extra space initially in the 300 but our pup outgrew it at about 5 months.

Good luck with the final wait before your girl comes home! I remember well the the anticipation and excitement. That looks like a really nice breeding too!!

The 200 is exactly the size I went with. Honestly, I have no use for these kinds of kennels so I'm just going to sell it on craigslist when she comes in and go with a regular crate.

Man I have to wait a whole week this is killing me lol..........
