Does your pup get the nervous/excited poops?

Hey everyone. Hope all is well.

I was wondering if anyone else had experience with their pup having WAY too early poops when he or she is excited/nervous?

Max is 9 months old and he still gets them on occasion. Part of my job requires that I be on the road about 2-3 days a week. I'm lucky enough that I'm able to take Max with me. On a normal day at home, he has regular stools and poops like clockwork. However, Max loves being in the car and gets really excited when we are ready to leave...does the same thing when we are getting ready for a walk, going to pet store, etc.

It always seems that once we stop, he needs to find a spot to poop. And it's almost always what my wife and I call a "bad one". Haha. I've just found it strange that he always has healthy poops at home, but not so much when he knows we are about to go out for some fun.

Anyone else have similar experiences?

Max gets scheduled meals. He gets the recommended daily amount of Taste of the Wild All Life Stages. Max was fed 3x a time for the longest time, but we have switched him over to twice a day now.

This was happening even when he was eating 3x, though.

Yes my boy did this for a long time when younger. Every time we'd go in public or to training classes he would have to poop and it was always 'softer' than normal. He used to just stop walking and go giving no warning! It was awful. Once home he resumed normal consistentcy. It still happens upon occasion but very rarely and mostly only when we are on long hikes (more than an hour). I always assumed it was stress or excitedness. He has out grown it though.

My boy does it whenever he's in a place with other dogs....training classes and just walking next to dog parks and other dog laden areas. He'll just squat and go. Sometimes he'll try to go more than twice and just ends up shooting blanks....:|

Nothing like being surrounded by people and having to pull a piece of poop mixed with grass out of your dog’s......well, you get the picture. Especially while the dog is whipping around in circles trying to get rid of the thing.

By the way, you should pull very very carefully and slowly, just in case there is a long fiber (rope toy, dental floss--who knows what they will eat) twisted around in your dog’s gut--if you have any doubt or there is any resistance, head for the vet.
