Yes melbrod that's is our land. No fence and it did take a lot of persuading with my breeder. I do have about a acre of it fenced with underground and my last dobie did great with that, although I won't begin that training until 4-5 months. Beauty of this breed in my experience is they don't want to run, they want to be attached to you. He's settling into our family nicely, though the cat may disagree. Try not to poke fun at my taping.
He has been amazing with the housebreaking. Goes potty every hour when I take him out. Starting with four hour stays in the crate at night and he's not messed in there yet either.
Bumping this thread with a few newer pics. Not sure if that is proper forum etiquette or not but here goes. He is 10 weeks today and posts are out due to some sores on the tips of his ears.
Love the water pics--mine don’t care for the water at all--though they love mud puddles.
You probably know this, but just in case--if his posts get wet at all, you need to take them down, let his ears dry and then repost them...in fact, if he’s going to be in the water for any length of time, you might want to go ahead and take them down first and then put them back up as soon as his ears are dry after his adventures.
I did take them down immediately afterwards. I hadn't planned on letting him in due to lake water and him not being fully vaccinated yet at just 10 weeks. He was having none of that though. I gave in.
