| My pup was 18.5 at 8 weeks old. Hes now 15 weeks and is about to break 40 lbs. His mother was around 80 lbs, but his father was a monster. His father was around breed standard height, but was rocks solid. You could see every muscle in his frame. From what the vet said, 15 weeks and 40 lbs for a dobie is really big, so they think Lennox will be over 100 easily. |

They weight and measure your child through the years and graph it on a chart to see where they fall in the national average. I don't know about you but my Dobie is my kid so I treat him that way. I know for me it's just nice to know where he ranges in size, but I know there is a lot of factors that go into it. European vs. American, bone structure, heatlh, bloodlines, different growth rates, runt of litter and etc. In the end all that matters is if they are heathly and that's where shots and yearly vet checks come in.

| My Nubis weighted 11.5 lbs at 7 weeks 3 days. He appeared to be the runt of the litter, but in the last 4 days has gained a puppy gut. I will weight him today, as he will be more heheh

| | Big Pup | Koa Koa was 7lbs at 8 weeks when we got him from a rescue. He was sick and also supposedly his litter was rejected by the female at 2 weeks.
Today at almost 16 weeks, he is 31.6lbs so he is catching up little by little.
Great Forum by the way! |

Funny, I was just thinking the same thing, RemRem's Mom! I don't think anyone here REALLY believes that tracking their weight will predict their weight at adulthood because genetics and proper feeding are the only two factors that will determine it. However, (like our kids) we live with our dogs everyday, so we don't really SEE the change. Tracking their weight affords us the luxury of "seeing it" through numbers, though... plus, it's simply miraculous the way dogs (and kids) develop and grow! |

| My pup was 27lbs at 12 weeks old... hes now approaching 4 months old but one thing that brings up confusion is that at 4 months old he will not be 16 weeks old... he will be about 17 and a half or so... do you guys understand what I mean? |

| Riley was actually around 13lbs, and he's a male, so I just chose 14lb as my option.
I didn't think that was light... I mean... you'd never know he was underweight now, I tell ya!

Nameless puppy (Euro lines, DOB: 05 October 2012) will be arriving at 12 weeks old, but the breeder has been tracking her weight:
7.5 weeks 7.3kg (16lb)
8.5 weeks 10.1kg (22.3lb) |

| My Axel weighed 6.7kg, 14.7 pds at 8 weeks. After that his weight gain has been fast.
He is now almost 5 mths old and approx 25kgs (55 pds).
He is a handsome black and tan looking at me as a type. Those in the know think he might get to 40kgs (88 pds). |
