| Why is this happening?? Jayda is now 14 weeks and I took the tape off her ears yesterday thinking they were done since they have been great for 4 weeks, now one is bent backward occasionally. When I took the tape off to change 4 days ago they were not like this at all. Do I keep taping stop taping??? Help!
Thanks, Candice

| I would definitely keep on taping.
Most people here keep on taping AT LEAST until they stop teething. I believe that is somehwere around 6 months old. It isn't unheard of to tape for longer than that as well...some as far as a year old!

| Keep tapping. I wouldn't consider stopping until after teething and it may be longer in some cases.
Such a pretty face.

She has a fairly long crop....I'd post until after teething...just to be sure they stay up for good. Most dogs are done teething around 6-7 months old.

| My last girl was more left eared. Like right handed vs left handed. They are growing and changing constantly at this age. Unless she had any trauma to that ear, like breaking the ear cartilage, this should be normal. I wouldn't start panicking just yet.
If you can get her to work the ears, like making goofy noises to see if she can make both of them stand, they should be fine at this point.

Just keep taping and make sure that ear is straight while it is taped up. Good Luck!! |

| | Banned | my last doberman was posted till he was 7 months. the didn't start standing good till well after 5 months old. Neither of his ears where standing at 14 weeks. not even close! I wouldn't let the ears hang loose for even a minute. each time you take them down to redo posts just put them right back up again. |
