Allright I will try to help here. If after taking the post down in three days and the ears are clean (by this I mean, no build up, no fluid in the base of the ear, the post aren't wet, no strong odor, the skin isn't raw) then the ears can be taped longer. Normally 5-7 days. At 13wks I don't see a reason to leave the ears uptaped but a few hours, clean them let them air out and tape back up. As time goes by, you can start leaving the ears down longer and see how they stand on their own and for how long. But I think untaping and allowing the ears to flop basically "breaks" the work you have done. I have a 4month old and her ears come down for a day and a half right now and they stand that whole time but get weaker as the day wears on, so they go back up before they have the chance to flop. Breathe strips are used to straighten ears or fix curls in the end of the ear. I normally use this only after the ears are standing like I want but I want to fix a end that curls in. I know some people use them often, personally I didn't get the results I needed.
Good Luck! And hope that answers your questions!
