| A farewell to Athena's natural ears (w/precrop pics)... Well, we decided to take the plunge and get Athena's ears cropped.
I dropped her off at Dr. Martin's office out by Flat Rock, NC. He was recommended by a couple of DT members and hopefully he'll come though.
When I spoke with him on the phone he seemed a bit worried about Athena's age (12 weeks) and said that he preferred to do ears from 7-9 weeks. However, after seeing her his concerns were put to rest as he saw that she only weighed 15 pounds and is about the size of an average 9 week old pup.
Yep, Athena is only 15 pounds at 12 weeks old! She's not skinny and seems to be coming along quite nicely...she just has a lot to make up for since she was the runt of the litter.
Anyway, on to the good stuff. I took a bunch of pictures of her last night to commemorate her last night with floppy ears.
Here they go! Working on "Sit"
Working on "Down". She knows to go into a "down" before I give her food. What a smart little baby.
Still trying to work on this.... :-(
"I'll lay down, but I don't have to like it!"
"Could I BE any cuter?"

She's going to stay the night there and I'm going to race over there tomorrow morning to pick her up.
Poor baby, first night alone without mommy and daddy. :-(

| You might want to pick up some RAW bones from Harris Teeter, my two love to chew on these. They are called "soup bones" and they don't have much meat on them. She might like to chew on those instead of your furniture. I am sure her teeth are bothering her. |

| I totally prefer cropped ears on Dobes, but Athena is just so unbelievably cute with those little floppies! I'm kinda sad to see them go, but you know she's going to be adorable with her little shriner cup and posts, and of course she'll be stunning when she's all done and has her eagle-ears all up and running!
Have I mentioned that I'm a huge fan of little Athena?!? |

| She is just horrible, you should send her to me right away and rid yourself of such a little terror!
I love the picture of her running to you, to save you from the dreaded camera dragons. She is just gorgeous!! I can't wait to watch her grow up. Also, we will need lots of post-op pictures.
