| Does anyone elses dog need a running start to poop? Every time I bring Odin out to eliminate he does this backwards circle dance a few times like he's trying to jump start the poop process before the nasty begins to come out. Anyone else have this very weird habit with their dogs? It's actually kind of cute but... weird!

| the backwards circle dance is the end of the poop routine, which starts with: first he reads the local paper business section, then the sports section, then pulls out the Hangun magazine, then the Playdog magazine and by about the time he gets to the Playdog centerfold, he is ready to do the final circle thing and poop.

| Oh yeah, Tess does the "back the truck up" dance. Sometimes I even make the beeping noise for her.
Funny story...when she came home from her spay surgery, the poor thing was still so out of it from the drugs that she went outside and totally forgot what she was supposed to do: she just kept backing up, backing up, backing up. It got to a point where I was sure she'd end up pooping on the house, but finally the light bulb went off...just a few feet from the back door. |

| Lol Tess. It's funny to watch though! I crack up every time I see the poop dance and secretly get excited because it usually means a poop free house for the next few hours. :P

| Maybe we should give this routine a formal name, like "kick start". My two do this all the time. They go to the edge of the yard just before the woods start in the tall grass and sort of kick their back legs like they are digging something up with the rear quarter. You are right it is funny to watch. I am just thankful that they go to the extreme end of the yard to do their business, much less poop to pick up or step in!!

| Mine both do the poop dance! Sometime they time it so they are doing it at the exact same time....sigh.....I have such strange conversations on this forum.
