Doggie Day Care for Puppies?

I just wanted to get peoples opinions on taking a puppy to Doggie Day Care? I've just gone back to work after staying home with my new pup Tali for 2 weeks. I do have pet sitters come in twice during the day while I'm at work. But Tali seems to be full of mischief in the evening now that she has to be kenneled most of the day. We take a long walk in the morning, and she has play time while I'm getting ready for work, plus the sitter walks and plays with her both times she is here, and we take another short walk in the evening. But still she is just different than when I was home. So anyway, I thought doggie day care would be a nice alternative. She could get a lot more exercise, mental stimulation and socialization all at once. But then I started to worry. What if she has a bad experience? Will she learn to bark endlessly, cause the other dogs bark there? Will this set her housetraining back, cause she would be forced to go potty on pavement or indoors on their rubber flooring? I know several DT people have taken their dogs to day care but I wasn't sure about taking a puppy. Does anyone else have experience with this? Any opinions?

Thanks, Andrea

I took Isabell our 4 month old girl to Camp Bow Bow. It cost $20 a day and is well worth it. We take her once or twice a week. It keeps her out of trouble at home & she has a blast. When I pick her up shes ready for dinner and bed. Totally Beat. Oh they have web cams I can watch her play while Im at work.

It's really good to know someone else has taken a puppy. And these are exactly the results I am hoping for with Tali. $20 a day is really good! They all seem to be about $27 or $28 a day in my area. It would be reassuring to able to see her online throughout the day, but the day cares I've looked into around here don't have web cams. I will look up Camp Bow Bow, maybe they have them up here too!

I was just inquiring about that here locally in PA. I'm having a hard time finding a place that does that here - LAW definitely is throwing fits at night now since I'm not home during the day anymore. He needs to get out and play.

We just put Rainah in daycare for the first time today. We walk her for a hour in the morning and then at least a hour in the evening - sometimes combined with off leash ball throwing sessions... she got spayed about 11 days ago and so hasn't been off leash or playing with any other puppies, so she really really need a day to romp. I'll let you know how it went. I know she is well socialized, but I also know that she likes to play rough... so hopefully they paired her with a dog that could take it... LOL

I know what you're saying! Well hopefully, if the the responses are positive, and you think you still want to try it, you will be able to find a good day care in your area!

It is hilarious to watch on the cam. I was worried as well because Isabell also likes to play rough. I think its a dobie thing. They put her in with other puppy's and dogs about her size. She chased them and knocked them around all day.
