Doing his job

This might get a little long but I just have to share it. Yesterday after running a few errands & making our usual stop @ pet smart, we stopped at our favorite country store owned by an elderly couple that my wife & I absolutely love. On the porch @ the front door to the store we saw two guys walking back & forth peering in the store window. When we pulled in one of the guys pointed to us & said something to the other one. They were looking at us and talking to each other and I told my wife somethings not right here & we're not getting out yet. After talking they walked down the steps and towards their vehicle, which was the only other one in the small parking lot & was two spaces to the right of ours. I glanced in the back seat & Gino our male Doberman who had just turned 6 months old this past Thursday, was just sitting there taking it all in. The driver opened his door but instead of getting in he started walking toward our car. He was almost to our car when I gave Gino his bark command to "watch em". The guy stopped dead in his tracks when Gino cut loose and got back in his car & they both left (I wrote down their license plate number, just in case). My wife & I obviously are very proud of Gino. The store owners didn't see the guys out front but were very thankful we did what we did & especially Gino. I may have been mistaken about these guys but I doubt it & the worst thing that happened was Gino barked @ one of them. We stopped @ a convience store afterwards & a lot of people walked right past our car. It was funny! Gino watched everyone walking by but didn't bark, he would look @ me as if asking "is this one ok dad"? He's my best buddy & it's such a comfort having him!!

Wow! Thats scarey for the store owners. I hope those guys don't go back later and do what they had planned.

I am worried that these men might come back later. I would call the police with that license plate number and let them know about the two strange men. I don't know what that would do but it would make me feel better.

Me too, that's why we gave the store owners all of the info., license plate #, make & model of the vehicle and a description of the two individuals. They said Officers stop in their store on a pretty regular basis & said they will let them know. Thanks!

Good boy Gino! Everyone just walks past our 13 week old puppy too. Its kind annoying/hysterical. But I'm glad Gino did his job for ya! It sounds like he loves you two a lot!

Good boy Gino. Get those bad guys, git em, lol. I'm glad nothing happened though. Like I say to clients 99% of a protection
dog is visual deterrent.
