Oh I see.. I thought ringworms were some kind of internal parasite. Well, better to have the vet check Debbie out. Thanks for the info guys!

Your girl is adorable! But i just noticed that shes laying on wire. Thats a no no. It could be the cause of her problem. She needs a blanket or lots of old bath or beech towels to lay on. That doesn`t look like ring worm fungus to me. Its more of a boney elbow that has been very aggravated by the flooring shes forced to lay on. she can`t stay in that cage for one more second without a nice covering on the bottom. your only going to make it worse for her. And it can get much worse so you have to change that cage bottom, what she lays on, make it soft.

She's scheduled to be dewormed again this weekend. So I hope that if those white "spots" are caused by ringworms, they would be treated and not go worse when Debbie gets dewormed again.

I'm not really sure if Debbie's current cage is a bird cage, my breeder friend just lent it to me while Debbie's large cage was being built. Now that it is, I will return that "bird cage" to my friend and introduce Debbie to her new cage.

Yeah, I may have to have Debbie lie in a nice soft towel to get her all comfy. But my problem is, as all puppies are, Debbie likes to wander off to other parts of the house and chew on a lot of things! Is it ok if I tie her up so she won't leave her soft bedding?Once again, thanks for the welcome. We decided to name her "Debbie" because we kinda like the sound of her possible monicker: "Debbie the/our dobie".

By the way, I'm from the Philippines.
No don`t tie her up, if she moves around and lays where she wants she won`t pick hard surfaces for every single nap. In that cage with no blanket shes a hostage and has no choice.

My puppies never got into trouble when they were little. I had 3 great danes and 1 doberman. never had chewed up shoes, clothes or furniture. BECAUSE I watched them. If they wandered out of my sight i just called them back, gave them their pile of toys and waited a moment to make sure they were content to chew on THEIR stuff. Then i could go back to what i was doing. Still aware of where they were and if they walked off again, i`d call them back. close off all doors and put up a baby gate to keep her out of parts of the house you don`t want her. its up to you to let her know what things she can chew on, her toys are for her. This is a baby and you have to follow her for a while and see what shes up to. I never let my puppies investigate my home on their own till they were housebroken and knew that their toys were the chew toys and nothing else. I let them wonder anywhere, I just watched and taught them when they attempted to do something wrong. You have to be on top of her in the beginning. You will have a wonderful dog in no time if you don`t let bad behaviors develop to begin with. Nip it all in the bud the second it happens. Be very gentle and kind, they don`t need you to be harsh when they are a baby, just change their focus and make them do what you want.

Thanks for all your comments and inputs! They're definitely valuable and I might implement a thing or two from them. Another question, though. Debbie's fur/hair at the back of her ears seem thin. Is this normal?
