If a company produces a product, but never tests it for palatability and safety, they're just sending out something for our pets to be the guinea pigs for. The initial melamine scare was only caught as quickly as it was because of a feeding trial...

| | Alpha | Thanks to everyone....
I learned alot....... I do plan on gradually switching the puppy over to ProPlan (I'm still not sure she, the breeder) isn't feeding him that now. So, I'll purchase that (ProPlan) and get whatever she is feeding him and work slow on the process.
If I have to switch at all. We'll see.
I'm glad I mentioned IAMS - holy moly...... back in the day that was the "food of food" and it is still expensive to purchase - so people like me don't have a clue that it's still not highly recommended. WOW.
Counting the days down...... and as you can see at 12:50a.m. EST.....I'm awake. I wanted to get sleep now because come Sunday night, I'm sure I'll be up alot..... LOL |

| I'm not talking about food trials, I'm talking about the umbrella of P&G products that are cruelly tested on animals. Food trials are necessary, but outdated chemical tests are not. |

Then search Nutro...the variations of food they have is huge...to me that says "we're more interested in reaching any and all markets for sales purposes. I'm interested in studying up on "raw diet" a bit. All my opionion- but ask my wife...I'm usually wrong. Ha!
-also I have heard complaints on here about the "expertiese" of the food analysis people- or lack there of.
-and I'm sorry for picking on nutro...it may be great for some...i just feel i had a bad experience with them.
-another note; you'll proably never get a diffinitive awnser...it will be a best judgement and then trial and error....good luck. | Not to worry! Thanks for taking the time to post this. I am really just looking ofr options. We still have a bag or so left of the Nutro so he might get started on it. It seems most have good things to say about Pro Plan so I'll most likely look into that.
Thanks again,
Chris |
