| | Lil Pup | Bow legged? Hi all,
Ive just got a little question, my lovely Lily, who is on my lap biting my neck at the moment, is now 9 weeks old. Had her for a week and all is well, but I've just noticed her front legs. They seem a little bowed and her toes point in slightly. Only seen it for a couple of days, and she is growing so fast, Im just wondering if this is part of her growth?
Any ideas?
Thanks |

| Large breed puppies can occasionally have abnormal growth of their limbs related to growing too quickly. If you haven't already, I would recommend taking her in for a well-baby checkup at your vet, and mentioning your concerns with her legs. It could just be normal puppy conformation, or it might not - the best one to tell you that would be your vet.

| | Alpha | also....one of my first dobermans came from a poor breeder. I didnt know it at the time.....my puppy was fine for the first week then his legs stared to bow....to the point the vet said if they get any worse we will brace them! for my pup it was from being kept in a crate without being able to excersise. when I got him it was like overload on his legs since he hadnt been useing them before. my pup was fine after about 3 weeks.

| | Lil Pup | Thanks for all the replies folks.
She is going back to the vet next week for her 2nd jab so I'll ask about it then. She is on Hill's puppy, dry food. She wouldn't eat tinned food.
She was in an outdoor run during the day at the breeders and a large crate indoors. Hopefully it's just her growing but I'll try to get a pic, if she will stand still!
Thanks again. |

| | Alpha | Well there are lots of good foods out there. I just don't care for Hills Science Diet. I don't know what is available where you live.
I feed Pro Plan. I think everyone likes something different.
I leased a female for a litter one time, she was being fed Science Diet Puppy and I just left her on it. She had no milk after the puppies were born. I switched her to Pro Plan puppy and she got milk quickly. The people who fed Science Diet didn't have good coats on their dogs and had to feed alot more of it per dog. They just didn't look good. |

| Check the sites below to research some dog foods. I recommend Innova large breed puppy or adult large breed. Canidae is a good food too. there are several good ones. |

I know the cats were not a fan of p/d canned I much prefer medi-cal development but medical was bought out i think, i cant remember anymore. |
